Superior Tour Guide
Teddy was a superior guide. He was personable and entertaining, and is basically Ketchikan’s goodwill ambassador. We really enjoyed his sense of humor and his commitment to his customers. He knew exactly where to go to see wildlife and the tour absolutely flew by. Highly recommend this gentleman to guide you in the unique town of Ketchikan.

Best Tour on our Cruise
This was such an amazing tour. Teddy is a great guide. He’s so enthusiastic and truly gets you excited about what a great place Ketchikan is.
We saw salmon, seals, and a bear and went to the beach to see eagles and enjoy a snack. The totem poles were also a great stop.
If you want to see a lot of wildlife, learn a lot of history and have a great time, this is your tour.

Dreary weather becomes a unexpected start to a phenomenal day.
We got off the boat and I was already frustrated with the weather. I thought oh well this is going to be a waste of money due to the rain and cold. I know who expects rain and cold in Alaska lol, but we are from Florida and it was 95 when we left. We met the driver Teddy who was upbeat and energetic. I made a comment something along the lines of well this should be fun, referring to the rain. Teddy laughed and told us that it rains like 260 days a year in Ketchikan and that it was actually a rainforest. This peaked my interest as I love facts and information.
For the next 2 hours ish we drove around Teddy was full of wonderful information about the city, how it started, wildlife, the purchase of Alaska, the totem poles and so much more. He tooks us to various locations that allowed us to see bears, the Salmon run, hatcheries, eagles and honestly it felt like it was led by a family friend instead of a tour guide. Teddy was a blast, so funny, knowledgeable, energetic and that spread to everyone, even this grumpy old guy. I had a absolute blast on this tour and my reluctance faded very quickly.
I was amazed at how accommodating the locals are to the tour guide buses. Teddy said the whole town is based on tourism now, and it shows. When Teddy would pull over or stop to show us something, the locals never beeped or yelled, they waited patiently for us and everyone was so friendly. I can not recommend this tour guide enough, the experience for the money is an amazing value. We can not wait to go back again, this will be at the top of our list to experience again.

Great tour
Thane was great. All the communication pre tour was very timely and helpful. The tour Israeli was also really good. He took the time to explain every single aspect of the places we visited. Went the extra mile to make sure we were able to see wildlife.
He also provided historical facts about each place we visited. His tour also included a small but very delicious snack and hydration.
Definitely worth the experience.

Great tour and worth the money
Zane was a wonderful easy going and extremely well informed guide. He went out of his way to find us when we couldn’t find the pickup location. He also worked hard so we could see a black bear. We actually saw 2 of them fishing for salmon. It was amazing as was the salmon ladder and totem pole park. He translated the poles for us which was very meaningful. Thanks Thane. The only improvement would be an easier place to meet. We got lost!

OUR FAVORITE TOUR HANDS DOWN!
My family took a cruise through Alaska’s Inside Passage this past July, and our first stop was Ketchikan. We decided not to book an excursion through the cruise ship and instead booked with 5 Star Tours—and it was absolutely the BEST decision!
Our tour guide, Teddy, was amazing from start to finish. He stayed in touch with us for several days leading up to our stop to make sure everything went smoothly, and when we arrived in Ketchikan, he met our family right at the boat.
The tour was fantastic! Teddy was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the island, but he was also absolutely hilarious. He kept our whole family entertained and went above and beyond to make sure everyone in our crew had a wonderful time.
We were honestly pretty sad when the tour ended, but we came away with memories that will last a lifetime. We loved our experience in Ketchikan so much that we’ve already decided to go back next year!
If you’re ever in Ketchikan, do yourself a favor and book with 5 Star Tours—and definitely ask for Teddy! You will not be disappointed. We can’t wait to see you again next year, Teddy! ❤️🏔️🛳️
