Not for the faint of heart
Simply spectacular. Walk though the Zambezi close to the top of the falls and then swim to the edge of the main falls, get in the pool, and swim to the edge where guide (Fabian) holds your legs as you look over the edge. Water is clear, cool (not cold).
Tips. If you have water shoes bring them, otherwise you can “rent” kroks. You wade through water to get there. I took boat back, very fun and saw submerged hippos.
Meeting point is just over the border in Zambia, at the park entrance and coming from Zimbabwe, requires a taxi to the border, then a no man’s land taxi to the Zambia border. Park entrance is on the left a few hundred meters past the border exit.

Check your accommodation is on the pick up list.
Wow! What an amazing experience!
My only comment would be that companies need to update their pick up points as new accommodation places become available- this created some confusion for us.
The actual day was amazing!

Pros:...
Pros:
• Amazing location and an awesome experience.
Cons:
• Lots of people. The whole thing works like a conveyor, with a lot of waiting.
• Last second change of the transfer. Viator confirmed my hotel pickup in writing the day before the tour. Then at 7 pm that evening Tamuka Travel called me on WhatsApp and said they wouldn't come to Anantara and I should organize the transfer to Victoria Falls town myself. I had to arrange it through the hotel.
• No answer from Tamuka Travel to my email/viator message at all. I was forced to contact the Viator support to confirm the itinerary.
Overall, I'd totally recommend the experience despite these minor issues, but I would advise against buying the tour through Tamuka Travel. Try a different tour operator.

Unreliable company
The pickup time kept getting pushed back and when they showed up nearly 2hrs late, I didn't have time to do the trip. We'll see if I get my money refunded.

Feels like a scam
We were contacted at 7.20am, while waiting for our 8am pickup. We were asked to check our emails, and found an email from Viatour suggesting a new date and additional fee (we weren’t here for the proposed date)
The person on the phone advised that the water was high, so there was extra risk and if we wished to continue the tour we would need to pay extra ‘insurance’ of about $200.
This seems like a scam.
We cancelled. Be wary.
We have lodged a dispute with our bank to get the money back.

Great tour, little better comms please
Everything was great except for the communication. Tour time was 10:30,and said we would be picked up at our hotel. I messaged the tour operator the day before through TripAdvisor confirming our pickup time, but received no response. I received calls through WhatsApp from an unknown number, that didn’t ring through to me that morning, but I wasn’t aware of the calls and didn’t answer. It was probably the operator. Someone from the tour came to the hotel at 7:40 and told me the original pickup time was 9:00am, but they were changing the time to 8:00. This left us very little time to change from church clothes to swimming. But the driver was very nice, and the rest of the tour was exceptional! Great guides, very safe. And it’s the experience of a lifetime!

Worth it but transportation was confusing
It was a little confusing with the time if the pick up and the $40 taxi to and from the border was too much if I would have know I could have got my own taxi as it would have been $10 each way. The food was great and the experience although scary felt safe. Great photos and a great way to experience vic falls.

Pick up time issues, but the tour was great
The tour itself was fantastic. They picked us up from the hotel took us through the exit Zimbabwe immigration, and we were handed off to someone who took us through the Zambia entry customs and immigration, and then they took us over to the departure site for the boat launch.
They had us fill out our forms and we rented water shoes for two dollars US per person so that we didn’t have to worry about our shoes and then we took the five minute jet boat over to Livingston Island where we were able to get changed into bathing suits and then they took us out to a viewpoint for pictures and videos which they do on your phone and then they took us over to the rock pool because the water was too high to do devils pool and Angel’s pool. It was still an amazing experience after that we had a breakfast included, and then they took us back to the boat launch where we handed in our water shoes and returned with our driver to the Zambia exit customs and immigration, and then he proceeded to take us over to the Zimbabwe entry immigration, and we were handed off back to our driver who took us to the hotel.
The tour itself was fantastic, but the communication with the tour company was not fantastic. We booked a 7:30 AM Breezer and in the notes it says pick up is between 30 to 60 minutes before that scheduled time. We were unable to reach the company to reconfirm what time they were picking us up so we arrived 30 minutes before at 7 AM to the front desk of our hotel and by 7:45 we still had no driver so we contacted the tour company directly on WhatsApp, they eventually called us back and we were able to sort everything. They did come directly to the hotel so I didn’t have to do everything right over the phone, which was actually quite nice and because we had booked it as Devil‘s pool and the water was too high. They issued us a refund, and we rebooked it as the angels Falls, which was less expensive. other than the miscommunication with times and the lack of communication about reconfirming everything the tour itself was fantastic and very well done
