This was one of our favorite things we did. Our guide Dreu was the best guide we have had on any excursion we have ever done. He went above and beyond to make the experience amazing. We took the tour Monday before the 53 eruption of the volcano. While enjoying dinner with the group we were watching the live feed and as it got dark we could see it start to glow. We asked if we could go back to the lookout and see it, we werent sure if we were going to get a good look at the stars since it was slightly overcast. Dreu took us back to see the glow and we still were able to stargaze as well it ended up clearing up. Dreu was so knowledgeable, he engaged the group and made everyone feel like family.
I don’t normally leave reviews for these things but I had to this time. Our tour guide Todd was excellent. The first half of the day was already fantastic, getting to visit the coffee farm, bake shop and black sand beach. Todd was incredibly knowledgeable and we learned lots along the way. We were amazingly fortunate that we entered the national park 15 minutes after Kilauea started having an episode. We got to experience it pretty much from when it started through to just before it ended. Todd knew the spots to take us to ensure we got the best views and even got us back there at dark so we could experience those views. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience and seeing the volcano erupt, was just icing on the top of the cake.
This was one of the most amazing tours I have ever been on. Todd was fantastic guide and we came away from the experience with more knowledge and enriched!
5 ⭐️ No notes Got to see the volcanic eruption (both in the day and at night), black sand beach, more stars than I’ve ever seen and the Milky Way all in one trip!!!!
This Wasabi trip was outstanding!!! We got to see so much in a 12 hour period!! Our guide Drew was a trip within our trip! He was so entertaining and knowledgeable about the area. Drew kept the tour interactive and fun!! I highly recommend this trip!!
What a great day! Tour guide very efficient to ensure we completed all the promised adventures. Tasted coffee at scenic Bayview Coffee farm, ate delicious masaladas at bakery, visited black sand beach, walked through lava tube, saw Kīlauea in daylight, visited Volcanos National Park gift shop, ate delicious dinner at Kīlauea Lodge (available Mondays only), returned to park after dark to see glow of volcano, and did some star gazing. Drew did great job of entertaining us and provided education on Hawaiian history, culture and coffee farms. Well worth the time and money!
The trip was amazing! From start to finish to notch. The duaghter and I decided we wanted a chill day on the island and decided to go on this adventure. We had Felix as our guide and he was the best. From the first minute he picked us up til the end. He allways made sure everyone was taken care of and his knowledge of the island was second to none. If we every make it back to the island would do this again!!
Our tour guide, Aaron, was an absolute pleasure to spend time with. He’s remarkably knowledgeable, weaving together history, local culture, geography, and even astronomy into every stop along the way. Listening to him felt like watching a beautifully produced National Geographic documentary; his command of language and pacing was masterful, each story flowing seamlessly into the next. He even paired his narration with background music, adding a wonderfully immersive touch to the whole experience. Genuinely one of the most engaging and enjoyable guides we’ve ever had. Highly recommend!
The Twilight Volcano & Stargazing Tour was amazing, our guide Aaron was fantastic! Having someone from island giving the tour made the experience that much better because Aaron had extra insight on just about everything we saw on the tour. The highlight of the trip for my wife and I was seeing the active volcano during the day and returning a bit later at night to see the glow. It was also a great evening for stargazing as we were able to stargaze from on top of the volcano.
Felix was phenomenal! Our tour ran on time all day. The information that he provided really sewed the trip together as we traveled from our first stop at the Kona coffee farm through the stargazing in multiple locations. The clean fans were very comfortable for our small group tour. Felix make sure that we were well hydrated and had plenty if snacks. I’m sure the other tours were good that day, but if you didn’t have Felix, I’m sure that you were missing something.
