Everything ran like a well-oiled machine. Beautiful cenotes and a fun time

Overall, great production- it ran like a well oiled machine. The nature was so beautiful and the experience was fun; we didn’t feel like any of the service majorly detracted from the beauty of it all. Pros: All of it was on a private property, very safe, with bathrooms aplenty. Super cool nature, not too crowded. Each cenote had its own special features: one had a statue, a cafe with bats, and a low platform, one had a higher platform and more rocks near the water, and one had an even higher jumping platform and a zip line. We were told that we would only have 20 minutes at each cenote which made us feel anxious and rushed— but then we had longer than 20 minutes. It was nice to have more time, but on the other we felt anxious for no reason. Cons: The van ride is hot and you may not have a working seat belt (happened on the way back for me). If you get motion sick, take medicine ahead of time or pack it- there was a bumpy ride we weren’t expecting in an open wagon thing. We were expecting to have to tip and pay for photos, but some of the workers were annoyingly pushy about it during the fire performance. We wanted to be able to watch the performance without interruption. Other info: The tacos were meh but free so no complaints. Photos were $65 but then when we initially declined they offered them to us for $55, which we paid for. They were fine, for three of us it felt worth it bc we could split it between us. Pick up instructions felt unclear, but we were able to message the organizers and figure it out. Very cute dog near final (largest) cenote

The experience was NO BUENO

They will constatly try to upsale you and ask you to tip them multiple times in the experience. If you don't give them what they're expecting they will be very unfriendly and make you feel unwelcomed. The water experience was ok, pretty but they don't let you enjoy it because the time is very limited. The zip line was only like 20 ft long 😔

Operator response

Hi Damian, thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We regret that you felt pressured during your visit and that the time at the cenotes and zipline did not meet your expectations. We’d like the opportunity to investigate your concerns. Would do again! The value is worth it :)

Josh was a fun host. All of the personnel are very kind and alot of fun. The Cenotes are gorgeous. You can bring your things with you on the Cenote only tour, just you can't bring them INTO the Cenote. I would recommend water shoes (not flip flops) because the rocks and pebbles walking around are painful. Pros - Its gorgeous, the guides are amazing, the photographer is fantastic and the prices of the excursion and the photos are reasonable. There was an incident in the water in the last Cenote and multiple guards/guides jumped in to save the participant. It all felt very safe. Bathrooms are clean, park with the entertainers is fun. Cons - The food was not good, dry and you can't just leave when you are done. We were ready to go once we realized we didn't like the tacos provided but we had to wait another hour after our Cenote tour ended to get our 1 hr shuttle back to our hotel. I would have brought food/snacks with me for my small children if I had known we would not return to the hotel within a few hours. We were picked up at 8:30 arrived back to the hotel at 3:00pm for the Cenote only tour which was way longer that I planned (4 hours total). There is not a paddle board and you must wear lifejackets so the photos are a little deceiving, but absolutley necessary (We saw it save someone's life). The last Cenote is the best, but was crowded, with lines and we weren't there very long which was disappointing. The beginning section with the 'add ons' and extra gear can feel overwhelming and sales pushy. Overall, would highly recommend. My children are 7 and 10 and I went solo with them and we all had a great time. Value is worth it.

Great excursion on a hot day!!

Wonderful day. Cool clear water. Great guides. You don’t need anything but a towel, some cash (for great tequila to take home + tips), and a positive attitude. Excellent adventure.

Timings inaccurate, inauthentic and trying to upsell at every opportunity

The description of this trip said it was 4 hours duration starting at 1.30pm, that it would be just with a quiet group and that you could enjoy each cenote at a leisurely pace. The reality was that we were picked up at 12.30 and returned after 7pm, making it a nearly 7 hour day. The experience started with confusion as we were told to meet at Selina hostel Cancun - this place no longer exists, so we weren't sure we were stood in the right spot. We were shuttled to a big adventure centre, arriving at 1.30pm. You are then put on what feels like an unnecessary conveyor belt of being forced to speak to multiple staff members trying to upsell you an over priced package of food/drinks and Over priced water shoes. Funnily enough they neglect to mention water shoes on the list of items to take before joining and TBH you can easily get away with not using them. The expectation of being able to enjoy each cenote at a leisurely pace was not met. I think total time spent in all 3 cenotes collectively was less than an hour. Time is wasted at the beginning as we had to wait to about 2pm to round up other peopke from different shuttles doing the same activity as us. You then go on a bumpy truck drive to the first cenote, where I think we had about 15 minutes in it. We walked to the second cenote where I think about 20 mins was taken up on the tequila tasting followed by 15-20mins to enjoy the cenote. For the first 2 cenotes we were the only group there (about 12 of us), so it was quite peaceful apart from the guide intermittently blaring out music from his speaker. We were told we could not use phones and cameras in the cenotes. I challenged the guide for the reason and was told it was because lithium leaches into the water! I call absolute BS on this, if that was the case would it be approved for most of the human population yo be walking around with devices that are dripping lithium everywhere?! Wouldn't other national parks ban the use of these devices globally?! Funnily enough they have their own photographer who took a camera into the cenotes then tries to charge about $100 at the end for some mediocre photos. For the final cenote we had to get back on the truck. When we arrived there was already anither group there and more people continued to arrive. The quiet, peaceful experience certainly was not a thing here. There must have been about 50 people in the last cenote and there was one group screaming and shouting so loudly that it did not make the experience enjoyable. This cenote also had lots of people using their phones in the water, so the rule about not using them went out the window at this point! I think the actual tour ended bout 5pm then before going home you are forced to sit in their restaurant for about an hour to get your snack, while they try to upsell you other food and put on a show that nobody is interested in. I was expecting the snack to be just a quick thing given to you by the guide during the trip, not to spend just as much (or more) time in the restaurant as we did in the cenotes. It is then carnage as hundreds of people are then all trying to find which shuttle they need to go into for their journey back to their hotel as there were only 2 member of staff directing, what felt like a big scrum of people. As it stands I would advise against this trip and instead get your own transport to one of the thousands of cenotes and do your own thing at your pace. The organisers could make this better with being honest about the timings (there is a big difference between a 4 hour and 7 hour trip). I would cut out the whole restaurant thing and contrived entertainment, so people have more time doing that they paid for - experiencing the cenotes.

Hi Lisa, we’re truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. Our tour duration includes both activities and transportation, which may vary depending on hotel locations and group logistics. We understand how this may have felt different from what you expected and appreciate your feedback on this. We’re sorry to hear that some parts of the experience felt overwhelming, especially regarding additional offers during the tour. That is certainly not the intention, and we will review this with our team.

Please avoid these scammers

They kinda put you in a jail. They will always pick you way early and never tell you when things will actually start. Even at the end they will make you sit in a restaurant for an hour just so that you get bored and order some food. Really a very big scam

Operator response

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. Our tours operate on shared schedules, which may involve early pickups and waiting periods to coordinate all guests. We understand how this can feel inconvenient, and we will review your comments regarding communication and timing with our team. We also want to clarify that any time spent at restaurants is part of the planned itinerary, and guests are never required to make additional purchases. Your feedback is important to us and helps us improve the overall experience.

Great family fun!

This was our family’s favorite excursion from our trip. We only booked it the day before, but the tour company was quick to confirm our reservation and schedule a pick up time. We arrived and found a well organized and friendly staff which was nice. Our tour guides were Ignacio and Manuel. They spoke great English and brought some great vibes. The cenotes were all beautiful and had places to jump off or just float. The drive out and back from the cenotes was one of our families favorite part. It felt like a safari in the open air transport. It was a great adventure. We are a family of 6 with kids ranging from 16 to 7. All had a great time.

Operator response

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re really happy to hear this was your family’s favorite excursion and that everything—from the quick booking to the experience itself—went smoothly. Ignacio and Manuel will be glad to know they made the tour even more enjoyable with their energy. It’s great to hear your whole family had such a fun time, especially exploring the cenotes and enjoying the ride through the jungle. We hope to welcome you all back again soon for another amazing adventure in Cancun! What To Do In Cancun Customer service team

Excellent

I don’t normally write reviews, but I think it might be helpful for some. Especially when trying to find activities in another country. I booked this for my friend’s bachelorette trip. We had so much fun. I booked the tour that included pick up. the tour coordinator was very communicative through whatsapp, to ensure we were being picked up on time and from the correct location. Each cenote was beautiful and just as pictured. They had a truck that would take you to each cenote. The roads to get there are a bit rough. it felt like going on safari. If you get car sickness or don’t like bumpy rides, brace yourself for that. I personally thought it was great. there were restrooms in all of the locations. at the end of the tour each person got tacos, which were included in the package. the tequila tasting was so much fun. Pablo was very funny and informative. my friends and i ended up purchasing some bottles from them. the only. even though it WAS a very touristy place, it didn’t take away from how fun the experience was. it did not feel overly crowded either. they also took great pictures throughout the whole experience. my only problem would be that they do try to sell you a lot of stuff. this doesn’t surprise me since it is so touristy. I have been to many cenotes in Mexico before, so my friends and I did not purchase any of the items they were suggesting. we were fine without them. Overall, I highly recommend this. It was a very fun and complete experience.

Operator response
