La Fortuna Waterfall is located within Arenal Volcano National Park, where the temperatures are between 18° and 35° Celsius, which generates abundant vegetation and diversity of fauna. La Fortuna Waterfall is generated by the waters of the Fortuna River and its small tributaries, which are born in the mountains of the park. Exhilarating view and refreshing clear water for swimming
We probably overpaid by getting the Skip the Line ticket, as it wasn't crowded during the rainy season. The hike down and back was manageable and the falls were beautiful! We swam at the bottom and were pleased there were lifeguards. The water was cold and refreshing! They had great benches and hooks at the base of the falls to change out of your shoes and hang up your backpack. I would have liked a bench or more than one hook in the shower stall for my clothes.

Great place avoid restaurant
Overall it’s an incredible view but just be aware there is a decent amount of stairs and depending on the amount of rain, swimming may be closed to the public, luckily while we were there an area reopen. The one thing I do not suggest is eating at the restaurant as when we ordered the power went out and they served us expired food and were mad when we complained trying to downplay it as us not liking the food when it was a milk based food

Beautiful views of waterfall
It is $20 US to get in and they give you this wristband and just to let you know it’s a lot of steps 500 steps down and 500 steps up so be prepared and wear comfortable shoes and bring a poncho or rain jacket since it rains a lot there and bathing suit and clothes if you plan to go swimming! It’s a beautiful view but pricey to get in and lots of walking

Spectacular
The best waterfall in the area. It’s majestic and the water was really cold. There was lots of people but there was plenty of room to get around.

A spectacular waterfall and very easy to enjoy
We liked La Fortuna Waterfall a lot. The path is very well maintained and the steps make access comfortable and easy to manage.
The swimming area is quite small and there are usually a lot of people, but it is very nice for taking a dip and spending some time in the water. There is also a part with some current that, always with caution, is fun.
And the waterfall itself is spectacular. The drop is impressive when you see it up close and the surroundings are beautiful. A highly recommended visit if you are in La Fortuna and want to enjoy nature, a bit of adventure, and a good swim.

Rain delay
We came a day late because our scheduled time had heavy rain and the park was very accommodating. We enjoyed walking the 500 steps and the beautiful views.

Beautiful but overpriced IMO
20$ to see a waterfall feels a bit steep IMO. it is beautiful but it’s a short trip. Maybe an hour max. The swimming area is very small and incredibly crowded. So I wouldn’t go for that.
Something to note is as we left one of the employees yelled “you forgot tip” we had gotten a beer at the bar after coming back up the steps. The bartender was different than the cashier as you pay in a different area so didn’t seem like a tip situation?

Beautiful falls!
The falls were beautiful and it was fun being able to swim in the river. The water was high so swimming was limited and it was difficult to see the fish.

Good experience
Beautiful site to see. There was a lot of people in the swimming area but it’s a very popular destination so expected. The hike back up is not bad as there are many platforms and places to take a break, 15 minutes down about 30 coming back up.
