A must tour

Fabulous. So worth the climb to see the views. I think we may have been the last group of the day so although I had time to see the views, just as I thought I’d sit for another 10 mins to soak it all in, we were advised we had to begin going back down. Something to bear in mind.

Do Duomo right

Skip the line is the way to go for these popular tourists attractions. Our guide provided basic historical information about what we were looking at (paintings, frescos, etc.) which made the experience better.

Knowledge & a Workout! What more do you want!?

Let's start off by saying, that the time my wife and I chose to do the tour was the perfect time(early morning) because we got the opportunity to enter the church before anyone else. So beautiful inside! our tour guide gave us information for about 30 minutes and sent us on our workout to climb up to the top of the dome. Great experience. Not as many steps as the St Peters Dome. Very manageable as long as you pace yourself. Great tour all together.

Highly recommend- loved it!

Our tour guide was informative and friendly. We had the first tour of the morning booked and were lucky enough to have about 10-15 minutes inside before the hoards started coming through. Such an amazing experience! It was particularly great to be able to skip the line for the Duomo climb. The climb is 463 steep steps and when you get half way and think you’re done you’ve still got a bit to go. If you suffer at all from claustrophobia I would not advise the climb. I am 56 years old and relatively unfit and still managed the climb. I felt hot and tired by the time I got to the top but all of the steps were 100% worth any discomfort to see all of Florence from the highest point. Highly recommend this tour! Loved it!

Above and Beyond

When my train was delayed almost an hour, putting me 10 minutes late to the tour, the tour provider went above and beyond to ensure that I didn’t miss the climb to the top, having someone stand outside to wait for me to arrive. I’m very grateful I didn’t miss out on the experience due to their efforts.

Fabulous experience

Wow, I had no idea this would be such a fascinating experience. The view from the top of the dome was, of course, stunning. The climb was just the exercise we needed. But the information on the architectural feat that is the Brunelleschi Dome was absolutely amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed learning about what makes this place so special. Our guide was excellent to understand. We booked an early slot in the day so the enclosed staircase was not too hot and we missed the very, very long queue at the main door. We also had the cathedral all to ourselves at the beginning of our tour. The fresco of the dome is stunning. The ticket also includes entry to the museum ( a building very near the cathedral) and this was well worth exploring too for the amazing exhibits and the welcome air conditioning. The Bell tower was also included and if you are keen on the extra exercise and a photo of the Dome from a high spot nearby, then why not? However the view from the Dome is probably enough.

Amazing views- sore legs

This climb is not for the weak- especially in the summer heat. I'm very glad we did it, and the views are amazing- but be prepared for VERY narrow passages, steep climbs, and limited breathing room. It was worth it in the end, but had I been less in shape I don't think I'd have enjoyed it very much.

Book the first tour of the day!

We were the very first group to enter and enjoyed having the place to ourselves for about 15 minutes. We were able to climb to the top of the Duomo and have a few minutes to enjoy the view before it started getting crowded. Book the first tour of the morning. You won’t regret it.
