Sigiriya Loris Night Walk Experience with Local Guide

The experience was fantastic. Pasindu and his father were two excellent and attentive guides. We saw a full 7 lorises and many different animals. The walk in the forest is an experience that anyone visiting Sigiriya should not miss. I always felt safe and at ease. Pasindu loves animals and nature, and it shows in the attention and care he has for the forest. They know it like the back of their hands. He also organized my tuk-tuk transportation to and from my hotel. You cannot miss this experience! ❤️

We had a great overall experience on the loris walk with Pasindu. The tour was well-planned and professionally conducted from the start. Pasindu provided all the essential gear—water, mosquito repellent, red-light lamps, and even umbrellas when it unexpectedly started raining mid-walk. The main objective was a complete success: we spotted around 7 lorises, which was amazing to see in the wild! However, be prepared for a truly raw nature experience. Navigating dark forests and open fields in the rain can feel quite scary and intimidating, especially if you aren't used to night trekking. At one point, I almost stepped on a venomous scorpion right on the path, which definitely added some intense adrenaline to the night. It’s a fantastic tour if you're looking for an authentic wildlife spot, but the conditions can be a bit intense.

This was honestly one of the most fun and memorable experiences we had in Sigiriya, especially for my kids. Our guide is a very friendly young man who clearly loves what he does and his father also joined us during the walk, helping to spot wildlife and making sure everyone was safe throughout the experience. We saw so much more than I expected including lorises, chameleons, frogs, spiders, fish, flying fish and lots of other little creatures. They were able to spot things in the dark that we would have walked straight past on our own. Everything was also very well prepared. Headlamps and water were provided and before we started, our guide made sure everyone had bug spray on, so you really don’t need to worry if you don’t have these things with you. My only advice is to wear long pants and closed shoes. I learned a useful trick during the walk which is to tuck the bottom of your pants into your socks to stop fire ants or other insects getting inside. Also watch where you step, although the guides are constantly looking out for you. What made the experience special was how personal and genuine it felt. It wasn’t just about finding a loris, we spent the evening exploring nature and discovering all kinds of wildlife along the way. The guides were patient, knowledgeable and really good with my kids. I would absolutely recommend this experience and especially this guide. It’s also a great opportunity to support a young local guide and his family who are doing a wonderful job. Definitely worth booking!

The walk is a very personal experience where we saw Loris and other wild animals. Pasindu is very welcoming and caring tour guide. He has provided us with some information upfront, some water for the walk and mosquito repellent.

We had such a wonderful time on this tour! Our guide’s Pasindu & Bandara were amazing. We loved that they gave us an information slideshow before so you knew exactly what you were looking for. Also make sure you have pre planed travel as we were waiting for a tuktuk for 30 mins 😭 thankfully Pasindu waited with us till we were safe as it was dark I highly recommend this tour, great vale for money!

We had a wonderful time at the night safari. The mood was very calm and relaxed. We strolled through the woods for 2 hours and were able to see lots of Loris, a scorpion, some birds, geckos and insects. It was really interesting and Pasindu cared very good for us. I would definetly recommend doing this tour.

I had such a great tour last night! I was the only one but the enthusiasm and passion was still high and we were out for a good 2 hours so no rushing at all, even though we saw a red loris very early into the walk. Saw multiple loris, two of which very clearly. We saw a frogmouth bird with its baby, a palm civet, 3-4 fishing cats and some of your usual night critters.
