Fredrico was very knowledgeable about his local wine (which he takes very seriously, red only). To top it off you are tasting underground in a 700BC Estonian tomb.
This is amazing experience in which the owners discovered the cave by accident in a shop they purchased. All temperature controlled. Francesca and her husband are a devoted and very knowledgeable couple. Don't miss this wine tasting experience and history of the Tuscan wine region specifically in Siena.
Great experience and wine. The cellar was nice and cool plus the history was interesting. The paired cheese was a nice touch.
Excellent wine tasting experience in a cave dating back to 700 BC. Federico is a knowledgeable and experienced sommelier and provided a comprehensive overview of brunellos and chiantis. We joined his wine club and are looking forward to enjoying Italian wine at home that you cannot get in the US!
Frederico is amazing. A class act, truly. He gave us a wonderful tour of his shop and told us the story of how he was remodeling and a jackhammer fell through the floor and they discovered a tomb. An Etruscan tomb that later became his wine cellar, and it is magnificent. Although small, it has so many details. Frederico was patient and explained all of the wines, all of the regions, and how they can be different even if they're not that far from each other geographically. We tasted several great things and really believed that we were in the right place of the right time learning about all of it with him. We joined the wine club and are really excited to continue learning and savoring each and every bottle ahead.
We were at the end of our Italy vacation and running a little low on energy. I had booked this wine tasting for our last afternoon in Siena mainly to fill the afternoon before we caught the train to Rome. Wow, were we happy we did. Our host Frederico was extremely personable, friendly, informative and funny. The wine tasting was held in a cave dating back to before Christ that was accidentally found during renovations of his wine store (I’ll leave the full story to Frederico). The environment was wonderful and the wines we tasted were outstanding and gave us a good representation of the various wines of the region, Chianti Classico, Super Tuscan and of course Brunello. I would highly recommend that if you are in Siena that you take a couple of hours to enjoy this wine tasting opportunity.
Fabulous Wonderful Worth the time Federico was very knowledgeable The wine was excellent and the cave was cool
Really enjoyed the cave and the history. We learned quite a bit about the wines in the region. Was very interesting and the wines were excellent.
We tasted 3 amazing wines in centuries old cave turned into a tasting room. The owner Frederico was extremely knowledgeable about Italian wines and his specialty is Brunello di Montalcino. We would 100% do this again if we were in Siena.
Fantastic experience! Very knowledgeable host and all around great experience! The wines were also fantastic!
