Side: Scuba Diving, Underwater Museum, 2 Dives incl. Lunch

Unfortunately, I have to say that we booked this excursion because it is advertised that a maximum of 15 guests participate in it. When we arrived and saw the huge ship, we were shocked. There were about 100 guests on the ship. The meeting point was at 9:00 a.m., after which the health form was handed out. By the time everything was done and we could set sail, it was almost 10 a.m. Due to the 1:1 support (this was the 2nd reason for us to choose this provider), it took forever until we could finally dive. The guides were great and very helpful. The dive was absolutely fascinating. We knew in advance that we had to pay extra for drinks and therefore brought enough water with us. During the 2nd dive, I had problems with equalizing pressure. That is why the guide surfaced with me 2x again to find a diving depth that works for my ears. He stayed with me at this depth and we dove over the underwater museum so that I could still see everything. We then dove a bit deeper very slowly, but always in a way that I had no pain. The guide was so great and made as much of a diving experience as possible for me! The guys on board, who help with the equipment, were also really nice and joked with us when we were finished with our dive. Basically, we can really recommend the activity; you just have to be prepared that you have to plan a lot of time and therefore have to keep yourself busy in between, so pack games or a book.

It was actually really really good! A lot better than other group dives. They really took their time with each person. As licensed scuba divers we were given a bit more freedom, which felt nice. I got a bit freaked having not really kept up with my diving, but it wasn't a problem, they gave me the reassurance I needed to remember what I'd learned and it all came back to my for the second dive. Huge compliment for their patience and respectful manner. We saw some amazing fish and the underwater museum was nice to see. The lunch was good too. The equipment was fine although the wetsuits were a bit well used and damaged. We were relieved that there were only about 35 people on board. We expected the max 15 as stated in the booking would be exceeded. I do feel this is unfair though. You think you're booking a small group when in actual fact, you're joining a number of other small group trips operated by the same provider. It can easily be 60+ before you know it. We booked without transfer (our hotel was excluded from the transfer so we didn't have an option). This worked out well as we took a taxi which cost just €12 more (for a family of 4, return trip). It not only meant that we were taken to the centre of Side, inside the city walls (instead of the long walk from the bus station), it also gave us the freedom afterwards to have a drink and a shop in Side and see it during daylight hours. I would definitely recommend this diving trip, fun and sociable staff with enough knowledge. I wouldn't pay extra for the transfer and do feel it should be mentioned that you have a 20 minute plus walk to the boat.

My husband and daughter had a lot of fun diving, only I was unlucky because I got a broken equipment. I didn't realize until I was downstairs with my mouth full of water. The divers were very competent.

Kudos to the divers. For me it was the first dive, felt safe and secure! The photos make the fun much more expensive.

The best excursion I have been on to date across multiple countries. Far exceeds expectations, lovely staff and good food. The dive itself was mesmerising. I cannot recommend this company enough. We were even able to pay extra for a speedboat straight to our hotel’s beach to save the bus trip back. The photos & videos are available to purchase on the boat of your entire dive and are of excellent quality! Thank you!

The actual dives were well organised, good lunch etc. But we deliberatly chose this dive as it was supposed to be small with 10 people. Instead, there were 80 on a large 3 tiered boat so it felt very unlike what we had paid for, and a lot of waiting around. The actual dives were one master diver per couple so that took a lot of time. We also didn't go to 2 different locations, but were in the same area. Not a lot of coloured fish, no coral and a lot of concrete statues, columns etc. To buy the photos and video is VERY expensive - Euro 80

Hakan and his crew were amazing. They made everyone feel inclusive. Before the dives Hakan explained in English Russian German and Turkish the important aspects of the safety equipment. He kept reiterating until everyone understood. His divers stayed with people throughout ensuring their safety. Having dived all over the world I can confidently say Harka’s team were very professional and everyone was kept safe. Thank you to everyone at Silver Diving.
