Side Jeep Safari Off Road Experience with Lunch

I have very mixed feelings about this tour, and in my opinion the description does not accurately reflect what you actually get. Before the trip, we were told that the road would be very dusty and were strongly encouraged to buy scarves for €5. I have some off-road experience, so I was already a little doubtful, but bought one anyway after hearing how dusty it would be. In reality, we spent around 10 minutes on a genuinely dusty road. Most of the route was on asphalt. A major part of the day was basically water fights between the jeeps. People constantly throw and spray water from bottles at each other, with lots of shouting and party atmosphere. Some people clearly enjoy this, but when it takes up such a large part of the experience, it should be clearly mentioned in the tour description. Personally, I don’t enjoy being constantly splashed with water and ended up covering myself with a towel, but that is of course my personal preference. The problem is that I did not expect water fights to be one of the main activities of the tour. There was also almost no information about the places we were visiting. Nobody really explained where we were, what we were seeing, what was special about the area or the canyon, or anything about the surroundings. So despite being sold as a sightseeing experience, there was very little actual guiding. Another disappointing part was the lack of proper stops in beautiful places where we could take our own photos. When we found somewhere we wanted to stop for a little longer, we were hurried because of the schedule. At the same time, the tour staff were constantly taking their own photos and videos, including drone footage, which they later offered to sell to us for €45 for two people. We did not buy them. The other stops were mostly at rather cheap-looking roadside cafés. The included lunch was very basic: sauerkraut salad, one chicken leg and a grain/pasta side dish. Drinks were not included - even water had to be purchased separately. The boat trip was also much less substantial than I expected. It lasted about one hour in total, including roughly 15 minutes for swimming. Essentially, we were taken to a swimming spot and then brought back. The waterfall was another extra cost. I am not saying that nobody can enjoy this tour. If you are looking for a loud party atmosphere, water fights, music and group entertainment, you may genuinely have a great time. But if you are expecting real off-road driving, scenic stops, time to take your own photos, information about the area and a meaningful canyon experience, you should know that the actual tour is quite different. In my opinion, the organisers need to describe the experience much more honestly and clearly, because people have a right to know what they are actually paying for. And please give me back the €5 for the scarf.

We had a great day with dust, water fights, and lots of fun. Our driver Alex picked us up from the hotel on time, brought us safely from A to B, and was also very friendly and attentive. The communication beforehand as well as during the excursion was top-notch - simply a great and friendly team. The excursion is 100% recommended for both young and old. What I can recommend to everyone is definitely not a sun hat - it will learn to fly🤣, better a cap. For kids, perhaps bring a change of clothes, and for those who do not like wet shoes, it is better to bring water shoes or flip-flops. Keep up the good work 👌

A wonderful experience from start to finish! The off-road excursion was full of excitement, with spectacular scenery and unforgettable trails, while the boat trip on the mountain lake was the perfect way to relax. Beautiful nature, a great atmosphere, and very good organization. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to combine adventure with relaxation!

It was worth it and I would go again

A really awesome experience, well planned and highly recommend for anyone up for excitement. We turned the back of our Jeep into a dance floor, churned up the dust and saw everything from the countryside and villages to nature and great views. Our driver was Alex, he could be a rally car driver. With him in control we all felt safe and confident enough for us to just have a good time.

Alex was our fantastic driver and Tour guide, he was very professional and fun. I would highly recommend Alex and his crew from discovery jeep Safari!
