Shore Excursion Barcelona City Tour Hop-On Hop-Off

Description
No matter what cruise ship you arrive on, this is the perfect do-it-yourself shore excursion in Barcelona. This double-decker open-top bus tour can be met at the Port of Barcelona (Port Olímpic - stop 3), which is a 15-minute walk from the cruise terminals. A hop-on hop-off tour is the best way for cruise passengers to get around the city. Get a bird's-eye view of the cobbled medieval streets of Las Ramblas, discover the Port Olímpic beachfront promenade, see the famous F.C. Barcelona Football Stadium and much more. You can hop on and off the tour as many times as you like aboard this sliding-roof double-decker bus. There are two tour routes, the Green Route and the Orange Route, and they are interconnected so you can easily hop between them to discover the best of Barcelona while your ship is in port. Your ticket is valid on BOTH routes.

It was a hot day and air conditioning didn’t work. Head phones were challenging. Enjoyed view from top deck.
Buses on the Orange and Green routes run at often enough. Traffic was the issue. Also, we were all asked to leave a bus because they said it was the last stop. If it's continuous, that didn't make sense. Waiting for the next bus was taking way too long. Ended up taking a cab to my final destination. Some connections for headsets didn't work. It's best if you utilize this transportation for full days. Partial days are too risky.
Typical hop bus system. Unfortunately, the bus broke down and we had to find alternate transportation for get us back to our starting place.
We did the night tour, so it wasn’t hop on/hop off. The guide’s narration was mediocre and scripted in a way that made me feel I could just ask ChatGPT. I took out the headphones half way though and just watched the sites go by. The only reason I didn’t fall asleep was fear of decapitation by low hanging branches. Definitely not the tour operators fault, but also repeatedly frightening as the foliage thwacked the bus in the dark. Overall I would say it was fine, but the live guide added nothing and recorded narration would probably have been better. I guess I also expected the city’s major monuments to be more stunning after dark, but it wasn’t all that special. Because of the insane daytime temperatures I certainly never would go on an open top bus in daylight! You would fry for sure!
Dear Happyvax, Thank you for sharing your experience. We regret that the night tour did not fully meet your expectations. Please note that, unlike our regular daytime service, the night tour operates as a panoramic route without Hop-On Hop-Off stops, allowing passengers to discover Barcelona illuminated from the open-top bus. We also appreciate your comments regarding the live commentary and will share them with the relevant team, as we continuously work to make the information provided during the route engaging and valuable for our passengers. Regarding the low-hanging branches, we understand that this may have been uncomfortable, although the maintenance of the city's trees and vegetation is managed by the local authorities. Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Best regards,
Unfortunately we weren't able to go on this excursion. Our flight arrived too late to Spain. Busses were not running anymore.
had a very disappointing experience with this tour. The pickup information was inaccurate, and despite following the instructions, no one ever picked me up. I spent about three hours walking between different stops trying to find the correct location. I repeatedly tried calling the company, but no one answered the phone, and I was never able to speak with a representative. I also never received any communication or assistance while I was waiting. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this tour. I paid for a service that was never provided, and the lack of customer support made the situation even more frustrating. I would not book this tour again, and I encourage others to be cautious before booking.
Big city tours Barcelona was HORRIBLE!! Very crowded bus. Not enough busses at start of route. Busses were infrequent! DO NOT pay for this horrendous experience!
Makes getting around Barcelona easy and reliably
Great way to get a taste of Barcelona. This hits most of the highlights. While Park Guell is on the list. You have to walk to it. There are 2 lines, into ok the orange line. The coastal part of the trip ia gorgeous. No one tells you about the gardens and museums you can see. If I were going to be here longer, I'd get the 2 day pass and explore every stop. Use the map. My headphones did not work.
Route was very good, and gave a good overview of the city. But on a hot day, bus is also hot. A/C is not great as there is no door to upper deck, so hot air permeates lower level. Audio was not very well synched to location and repeated several times. ‘Hostess’ held two seats for herself with her bags that prevented paying guests from using them.
