Description

Experience the largest museum of ancient Egyptian art with its treasures of Egypt’s great past, such as the high-quality tomb goods. Our tour guide will humorously explain the most important exhibits in a two-hour stay and answer your questions. Marvel at the last existing wonder of the world - a fabulous experience! A total of three pyramids can be found here : the Chephren, the Cheops and the Mykerinos pyramid. You can discover the terrain on foot, horseback or on camel for yourself. Smoothly run from start to finish - Tour guide Ahmad was brilliant!

We were a family of 7, with 5 children from ages 7-14 and we all had a brilliant (but exhausting) time! Communication was excellent, we felt everything was under control at all times. Instructions were clear. We were met at every stage, from hotel pick up to drop off at the end of the day. We were never kept waiting, everything was run efficiently. In Cairo our tour guide Ahmad was brilliant. He was so knowledgeable, passionate, funny, and considerate to younger passengers. We loved hearing him talk about Egypt's culture, Cairo's history, and of course the pyramids. He paced the day well, was very patient if anyone fell behind, and gave us enough space to explore on our own, while giving us great advice on what was worth spending money on, and how to keep safe. The only parts we didn't enjoy as much was when we made stops to a couple of shops, and we didn't love the hard-sell. I understand that these are parts of most tours, but our group had several young teenage boys, so somewhere more relevant to their tastes would have been better I think - a market with trinkets perhaps, rather than perfume? Overall, I think when you have a good guide, it really makes a tremendous difference and we were really lucky with Ahmad. It was for us the trip of a lifetime, and we loved it.

An experience not to be missed!!

Positive experience from the hotel pickup onwards. BTE agency organized in everything and helpful. We were provided with the numbers for the escort, guide, and driver. Our guide Lorenzo was super nice and engaging, especially in the pyramid area. Too bad about the somewhat rushed tour of the GEM. We recommend clarifying this beforehand. After the pyramids, lunch with a view (medium-low quality and drinks separate). In the afternoon, GEM and then the papyrus and cotton museum (tourist trap, better not to do it, ask to stay longer at the museum). After the tour, straight to the airport. Many thanks to Lorenzo and GTE because the experience is absolutely a must-do, well-organized and structured. "Old hen makes good broth" Kisses for our guide

Terrible experience!

Unfortunately, I can only leave a negative review. The first painful note: I was picked up from the hotel in the morning at 6:30; unfortunately, I lost my fanny pack with my documents and money at the entrance of my hotel. I notified the driver, who got on the phone with his "manager" and decided to continue straight to the airport. Even though our flight was at 8:45 (later postponed to 9:45, and we finally took off at 10:15) and even though we arrived at the airport at 7:00, just 10 minutes from my hotel, the bus driver told me he could only take me back to get my fanny pack if I paid €20. And all this without me being able to speak with any of the excursion organizers: the condition for being able to travel 10 minutes down the road, with a flight taken almost 3 hours later, was to pay 20 euros. I pointed out this problem to the organizer by message a few hours later because at the time it was impossible for me to do otherwise; they did nothing but express regret and inform me that they would clarify what happened with the driver (a driver who showed up again on the return trip and who obviously didn't even bother to apologize for his behavior that morning). No professionalism, no cooperation, no understanding of the problem. I arrived in Cairo after the flight, and we met the guide who began listing the day's activities, including 'optional' activities that involved extra costs; among the activities, upon arrival at the pyramids, a tour to a panoramic viewpoint by camel or horse-drawn carriage was proposed. 10 euros per person, with the promise that no more money would be asked for. Too bad that, once you choose the camel ride, as soon as the guy taking you on the ride takes two photos of you, he starts asking for money with sickening persistence, like everyone else, and until you give him a tip, it is a constant torment. All this for a 15-minute ride, two photos, and that's it. Tour of the pyramids, then lunch (with drinks excluded at European airport prices like 3 euros for a can). We arrived at the museum at 3:30 PM. A museum over 3/4 floors, new and immense. Hasty 1 hour and a half tour (it wasn't even enough to see half a floor) because then they wanted to take us to the papyrus museum (tourist trap to make you buy at the guides' reference points) and to the perfume factory, as above. Neither of the two activities was planned in the program, it was indicated that if there had been time we would have visited the Khan el Khalili market. It's a shame that I had to dedicate only an hour and a half to the museum to go and be asked for money in two random shops, like a thousand others, but apparently affiliated with the guide. Finally, the last optional activity, the ferry ride on the Nile, 35 minutes, still 10 euros per person. Practically the time at the museum is reduced because they have to take the tourist to get fleeced in more ways. Not very honest, not very transparent and not very fair. Especially with the big problem that my partner and I had this morning. I strongly advise against it, if you do not want to dedicate time to 'optional paid' activities at the expense of the activities for which you paid a ticket. Or if you like to be treated with seriousness and not like piggy banks.

Cairo day trip — Ahmed made it!

We did the Cairo excursion from Sharm with our two girls (9 and 11). The early 4am start was worth it as once you've landed you head to the pyramids and beat the heat and the crowds. Our guide Ahmed was excellent — he was very knowledgeable and kept the kids engaged, nothing felt rushed. The pyramids are amazing in person, photos don't do it justice. GEM Museum was a great add — modern, air-conditioned and full of facinating artifacts. The day was capped off with a felucca ride down the Nile. A perfect way to wind down after a long day. Highly recommend. Ask for Ahmed.

A Safe, Well-Organised and Unforgettable Trip to the Pyramids

From start to finish, the communication from Book Tour Egypt was clear, organised and punctual. As I was travelling to Cairo with my young son, safety was particularly important to me, and Ahmed took extremely good care of us throughout the day. He was always within earshot, offering guidance, reassurance and support, while still giving us the freedom to enjoy this incredible experience. Seeing the Pyramids was absolutely amazing, and Ahmed even gave us the insider’s guide to getting the best photographs, navigating the area and staying safe. His knowledge of Egypt is outstanding — he brought the history to life with fascinating facts and stories throughout the day. Most importantly, I felt that my son and I were in safe and capable hands from beginning to end. Thank you, Ahmed, for taking such good care of us and helping to make our visit to the Pyramids such a memorable experience. I highly recommend Book Tour Egypt for anyone considering a Cairo and Pyramids trip from Sharm El Sheikh. 🇪🇬🐪❤️

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Unforgettable experience in Cairo – Aadel is an exceptional guide!

A truly beautiful experience and absolutely recommended! We participated in the excursion from Sharm El Sheikh to Cairo by plane and we were fully satisfied with the organization and the entire program of the day. A special thanks goes to our guide Aadel, truly exceptional: very well-prepared, professional, kind, and always available. He accompanied us with great attention throughout the day, managing to make every visit interesting and engaging. The visit to the Egyptian Museum was fantastic, where Aadel dedicated about two hours to us with truly super explanations, full of information and interesting facts, but always clear and pleasant to follow. The time spent at the museum was more than enough to appreciate its wonders without having the feeling of a rushed visit. The visit to the Pyramids and the Sphinx was naturally beautiful as well, made even more interesting by Aadel's explanations. The lunch was also very good and more than enough, another pleasant positive note within a really well-organized day. Visiting Cairo is already an extraordinary experience, but having Aadel as a guide really made the difference. Competence, availability, and a great ability to engage. Excellent organization, an unforgettable day, and Aadel gets an A+. Five stars absolutely deserved!

An amazing private tour

I had a private tour with a wonderful guide Sam who was very accommodating, we kept changing our minds what we wanted to do and nothing was much trouble for him. We had personalised experience, we were told what to avoid on the trip and overall it was an amazing experience. Sam’s knowledge was invaluable.

Wonderful visit, super guide, but trip organization could be improved.

Beautiful trip to Cairo, the pyramids and museum leave you speechless. Guide was super helpful and valuable with information. Something still needs to be defined regarding the organization and transparency of information. For a plane tour from Sharm, the 3 AM wake-up call for departure risks keeping you from fully appreciating the wonder of what you are seeing. For certain things, it is better to go by bus and sleep during the trip.
