From the operator’s live schedule on Viator, checked Oct 3.
Start our Fez Medina walking tour at the Bab Bou Jeloud (Blue Gate), on the west side of the Medina. Originally built in the 12th century, it was reconstructed as a triple-arched gate in 1913 by the French to create a grander entrance to the city.
After entering the gate, take a quick left, then right onto Talaa Kebira. Passing a plethora of interesting stalls and cafés, pop into Medersa Bou Inania (20 Drh). Built in the 1350’s the madersa is the finest theological school in the city and contains an entire mosque.
It is located in Fes el Bali, the oldest medina quarter of the city, near the Saffarin Madrasa along the Oued Fes
Turn right passing the dyers souk and mirror stalls along Leather street before arriving at charming Place Seffarine.
You are now back in the main shopping streets. The beautiful Souk el Attarine sells all sorts of clothes and jewels and is flanked by the extremely ornate mausoleum of Moulay Idriss III. Built in 1323 many consider this the heart of the Medina.
Visit the Henna Souk and the Museum of Woods, Arts & Crafts (20 Drh) at the restored fondouk in Place an-Nejjarine. Then, head along Talaa Seghira and back to the Blue Gate to find a place for a late lunch.
Place Seffarine is the perfect spot for a break. Take a sweet mint tea on the pavement at Crèmerie la Place and watch the metal-workers beat their copper pots and pans into submission.

Driss was our guide to discover the medina of Fes, we learned a lot about the history of the medina, custom and tradition. He adapted to our pace because we came with a small child, a very nice experience and beautiful person, thank you very much!
We had a wonderful time with our guide Driss . He has a great culture of Fes, his explanations are very interesting, he adapts the visit according to your desires, I recommend it with closed eyes! Thank you very much.
Idriss was an incredible guide and made our experience in Fes better than we could have imagined. It was clear that he was born and raised in the Medina, he knew the area and its history like the back of his hand. He also has experience as both a teacher and a tour guide throughout Morocco so we were able to get answers to any question we had about Amazigh and Moroccan history. The experience felt much more authentic and personal as we walked the streets and every day residents would stop us to say hi to Idriss who is just another one of their neighbors!
We had a great day in Fez thanks to our guide Idriss . Very professional, punctual and passionate about the history of the medina. He made us discover authentic places, off the beaten track, while sharing many interesting anecdotes. His knowledge of Moroccan culture and his love for his city are impressive. I highly recommend Idriss to anyone who wants to discover Fes in depth
Idriss is an AMAZING tour guide and equally wonderful person!! My niece and I arrived in Fes the night before meeting him and was a met with a bit of unanticipated chaos. I explained the situation to Idriss for context before meeting, and his caring demeaner put us both entirely at ease. He is so incredibly caring, loves his city, and is wonderful at explaining the history and processes to people of all ages - I am 40 and my niece18 - for equal understanding. Idriss' English is phenomenal, which is an added bonus! For lunch, he suggested a local restaurant with the best chicken skewers we had had the entire trip. While visiting the tannery, the electricity briefly went out (people were working on the AC unit!) and he immediately came to look for us. It was so very thoughtful! My favorite part of Idriss and his tour is he felt like someone you already knew and could be entirely comfortable around. He asked questions about what we wanted to see and would suggest stops along the way. His smile is contagious, and he is genuinely a beautiful soul. We had a wonderful experience and would absolutely love another tour with him and suggest him to anyone who visits Fes! It was difficult to say good-bye and I hugged him twice!
It's very kind of you to write such wonderful review . looking forward to seeing you again in Morocco.

Excellent guide!! we read the other reviews and Driss is exactly as it is described! A great knowledge of the city , a real inhabitant of Fes . He guided us off the beaten track in the medina with very interesting explanations that we would not have had without him. Very friendly, very attentive and so smiling. Very cultured. a lot of finesse and intelligence in our exchanges going well beyond simple information about the city! A very nice visit to Fes and a real meeting. How lucky we were!
