My husband and I recently had an overnight stay at the An Grianan Hotel, Burt, in Co. Donegal. The hotel management had offered us a Complimentary Voucher for Bed & Breakfast as on our previous stay there, we were given a ground floor room that had the hotel Bar right outside of our window, which resulted in an unpleasant noise level. The room we were given was The Executive Suite on the top floor, which was a very spacious and beautiful room, with very nice touches of biscuits, and chocolates, in addition to the tea and coffee facilities provided. There was a very nice area with comfortable armchairs and table for relaxing and the finishing touch of an arrangement of dried flowers on the table was very nice. The bed was enormous but very comfortable, and as the suite was at the end of the hallway, it was very peaceful there. Dinner was very nice, but not a great selection on the menu and the breakfast was excellent. A vast variety of breads, yoghurts, fresh fruits, juices and cereals to choose from, along with a menu for a cooked breakfast. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful and the outside of the hotel has a very nice little garden to walk around in. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is travelling in that area and looking for a bed and breakfast. They won't be disappointed.
Thank you to pleasant young man on duty at Carrickinn airport for afternoon flight on 08/04 who checked my bag on connecting flight to London. First off the conveyor belt at LHR. Hooray!!
We book last minute booking for ST Patricks Night and had a great break .The staff were excellent very helpful and friendly .We had dinner in the hotel which was great and breakfast was well lead out with plenty of options .We will defiantly be back for a longer stay
I visited The Shandon on a spa break a few weeks ago. The spa facilities were excellent and I really enjoying using them especially the outdoor hot tub. The food in the bar was also of a high standard. I had pate starter, chicken supreme for main and creme brûlée for dessert. The breakfast was also very good. I would highly recommend this hotel and spa.
