Tobi was our English tour guide for Berlin in September 2025. Tobi is an excellent and impressive tour guide for the city of Berlin, not only because he knows the Berlin history very well and explains to us clearly, he has also lived through the communist regime in East Germany, so he had many personal stories from that era that he passionately shared those “extras”with us when he lead us through the Brandenburg Gate, Memorial of Holocaust, Remaining Berlin Wall, the Killing Field, and the Charlie Checking point. He told us how life was like under the communist government in East Germany, such like the shortage of fruits so his family only had one green banana for each child for months and saw oranges only for Christmas. A He witnessed the historic changes for East Germans since the fall of the Berlin Wall and he was able to go abroad to Canada where he learned English for the first time. Later he returned to Berlin and has worked as a tour guide with his new language skill for decades since. His English is pretty impressive! He answered all our questions thoroughly and clearly. Strongly recommend him as your tour guide for Berlin!
This was the perfect excursion from Warnemunde port to Berlin. We were promptly picked up at the cruise terminal and traveled to Berlin in a comfortable passenger bus along with 25 other guests to 40 seats, so there was plenty of room to spread out. It is a three-hour drive to Berlin, but we had a bathroom stop both ways. Once in Berlin, we separated from the group tour and met our guide, Daniela. We had our own driver as well. We were able to see all of the important sites with a very informative guide. Daniela catered the tour to our desires perfectly. We were returned back to the cruise ship with time to spare. I would highly recommend this tour.
