It was a great discovery to find this lunch and tour with a local. A tasty and varied lunch in Claudine's home followed by a non-traditional stroll around Montmartre was a highlight of our second visit to Paris. We loved it!
Claudine prepared a beautifully presented and delicious lunch. She is a delightful host. I have had dinner with her on two previous trips to Paris, in 2015 & 2018. Having made Montmartre her home for decades she shares a lot about the history of the area, interesting & significant people who lived there and is a perfect person to “stroll through the neighborhood” with. I highly recommend this afternoon experience if you want to discover special places in Montmartre after a delightful meal. Her dinners are wonderful as well. Merci beaucoup Claudine!
Montmartre Lunch and “Secrets of Montmartre” guide by the beautiful French native Claudine was as if we were stepping into a novel one would about living in Paris. We were greeted by Claudine from her fourth balcony- Bonjour , here is my code! We enter this exquisitely tiled Art Deco entry and walk up these well maintained 1900 staircase. Enter here home, again reveling the beautiful 1900’s high ceilings delicately decorated plaster crowning along the perimeter of the room and beautiful light streaming from her balcony doors. The decor was a tastefully Parisian mix of period furnishings, but the highlight was the beautiful set table for our Lunch. Again, eclectic mix of period tableware, reflecting “Parisian “ flare of design. Claudine made us a “typical Lunch” it was delicious, balanced with stories of her Montmartre life. After Lunch we went on her tour of her “Montmartre”. Filled with so many interesting and funny stories. She showed us where she had parties where her friends live and where all the amazing history of each area Montmartre created. It was our first day in Paris and what a way to begin our visit!. Thank you Claudine for your wonderful hospitality!
We had a wonderful lunch and afternoon on this tour! Claudine is a fantastic hostess and lunch was four courses of deliciousness! We found Claudine's place easily and were only a few minutes late due to heavy traffic (luckily our Uber driver was able to drop us off right at her door). Unfortunately Viator had supplied an outdated passcode to her building, but that was easily rectified with a quick call and Claudine came down to fetch us. There was another couple there for the tour and lunch also, they were from the US, so the conversation was mainly in English. Claudine told us stories of her life in Paris and all about her neighbourhood. After dessert we headed down to the street to discover Claudine's secret Montmartre. The walking tour was lovely. Past all of the must-see locations with Claudine pointing out so many things we might have missed and keeping us entertained with stories and history. Thank you Claudine, we enjoyed your company very much!!
