Scallop Charters in Crystal River with Captain Scotty

This was an amazing experience with three couples. Captain Scotty knew just where to go and what time the tides would be best. He was so good at describing what we would see and we caught our limit! He knows the best spots! We had some challenging weather, which honestly just adds to the fun stories and Scotty knew exactly how to skirt around it. I have never seen how scallops look in the shell and this was very cool. I had my own snorkeling equipment, but Capt Scotty recommended using his and he was so right as I skin dove down a lot and would have been constantly clearing if I hadn't taken his advice.

What a fantastic experience. We did the scalloping charter as a family of 4. Two parents, 13 and 21 year old. Captain Scotty even picked us up from the marina at our hotel - talk about service. Scotty and Justin were professional, down to earth, Knowledgeable and fun. They knew different spots to try out based on the tide and depth. When one spot didn’t work well because of conditions (it’s Florida, nobody can control that), Scotty was quick to adjust the plan and check another spot. We ended up with the max allowed scallops. Love the way we ended the day by heading into the springs; cleaning scallops on the boat and taking a dip in the fresh spring water. They also had ingredients to make fresh ceviche right there on the boat. When we were all done, we docked back at Crackers restaurant where they cooked our catch for us. Fantastic time and amazing crew, who puts that personal touch into their business and made the day feel special.

We will definitely book more tours with Waters Edge!! Capt Scotty & Lena made us feel so at ease! I never thought I’d dive in the ocean but I conquered that fear and came home with scallops!! It was SO FUN!! 10 ⭐️ stars!!
