Private Tour: Pyramids of Giza Memphis Saqqara with Lunch | 7 hours | 5.0 |
A tour to Saqqara, Memphis, and Dahshur is special because it shows the evolution of pyramid building and ancient Egyptian civilization in one trip: Saqqara – Home to the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the world’s first pyramid, marking the beginning of monumental stone architecture. Memphis – The ancient capital of Egypt, where you can see the massive statue of Ramesses II and other relics of Egypt’s political power. Dahshur – Features early true pyramids like the Bent Pyramid and Red Pyramid, showing the transition to smooth-sided pyramids. Together, they tell the story of how the pyramids developed — away from the crowds of Giza.

Saqqara is an ancient burial ground near Cairo that served as a necropolis for Egypt’s capital, Memphis. It is best known for the Step Pyramid of Djoser (built around 2700 BCE), the oldest large stone structure in the world. Saqqara contains pyramids, mastaba tombs, and temples spanning thousands of years, showing the early development of pyramid construction in ancient Egypt.
Dahshur is an ancient royal necropolis in Egypt, located about 40 km (25 miles) south of Cairo on the west bank of the Nile. It is famous for its pyramids, especially: Bent Pyramid – Built by Pharaoh Sneferu, known for its unusual change in angle. Red Pyramid – Also built by Sneferu, considered Egypt’s first successful smooth-sided pyramid. Dahshur was mainly used during the Old and Middle Kingdoms and is an important site for understanding pyramid development.
Memphis or Mit Rahina Museum is an open-air museum in the village of Mit Rahina, near the ruins of ancient Memphis in Egypt. It is best known for its colossal limestone statue of Ramesses II, about 10 meters (33 feet) long, displayed lying down in a special hall. The museum also features sphinxes, statues, and other artifacts from ancient Memphis.
