- ## Important Information for Cruise Ship Passengers This tour is organised by a local Santorini travel agency and welcomes all visitors, whether they are staying at a hotel, arriving by plane, or visiting the island on a cruise ship. Cruise passengers should be aware that access from Santorini’s Old Port to Fira is subject to the disembarkation procedures, tender operations, cable car capacity, cruise traffic, and passenger-flow arrangements determined by the cruise companies and the competent local authorities. These procedures can result in long and unpredictable delays that are entirely outside our control. The meeting point for cruise passengers is at the exit of the upper cable car station in Fira. Please disembark as early as possible and allow substantial time to reach the meeting point. The ship’s scheduled arrival time should not be considered the time at which passengers will reach Fira. We make every reasonable effort to assist cruise passengers. However, this is a scheduled small-group tour that also serves guests staying at hotels and other accommodation around Santorini. The departure cannot be delayed indefinitely because of congestion at the Old Port or the cable car. Passengers who arrive after the confirmed departure time may miss part of the tour. Where operationally possible, we will provide instructions for joining the group at a later stop, but this cannot be guaranteed. Missed tour time resulting from late disembarkation, tender delays, cable car queues, or other port-access problems is not the responsibility of the tour operator and does not qualify for a refund. Unfortunately, the current management of cruise arrivals in Santorini frequently creates avoidable congestion and uncertainty for independent visitors. It has also allowed a separate commercial market to develop around bypassing these difficulties, including paid fast-track arrangements, water taxis, private transfers, and similar services. These are independent services and are not organised, controlled, or endorsed by Santorini Getaways. In our view, cruise passengers should not be required to purchase additional services simply to overcome congestion created by inadequate coordination. Until the responsible organisations establish a more reliable system, passengers must plan conservatively and allow as much time as possible to reach Fira.

We had the most amazing time touring Santorini. The perfect amount of beauty and history wrapped into an extraordinary afternoon. Nefeli was such a delight and so knowledgeable about her beautiful island. We can’t wait to visit again one day!
We had a lovely half day trip around Santorini Nefali was a fantastic guide who was friendly knowledgeable and very helpful throughout the day. She made the trip really enjoyable and showed us some beautiful places around the island Our driver was also great although unfortunately I can’t remember his name. Everything was well organised and it was a brilliant way to see more of Santorini in just a few hours Just a little tip if you’re dropped off to view the sunset make sure you have a plan for getting to the actual sunset point on your own. We used Google Maps to navigate to the recommended spots which made it really easy to find our way 🌅 We really enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend it.
A very good trip to explore the island of Santorini, taking us to all of the different hot spots and key locations on the island. The pickup was right outside of our hotel and we got plenty of time to spend at each of the locations that we visited. Very safe driver at all times on a very comfy vehicle. Excellent price and one I would recommend to all if you want a beautiful sunset spot at the end of it.
We are 2 seniors traveling from the US on an Oceania cruise ship. This tour was perfect. They met us exactly as planned at the top of the cable car station. Our tour guide was so sweet and knowledgeable. We had a great day seeing the island of Santorini. We recommend this tour.
Fotis, our guide and Costas, our driver were both phenomenal! We thoroughly enjoyed visiting each of the locations in this tour and Fotis was an excellent guide in each. He was very informative, cracked some good jokes, was willing to answer and welcoming to any questions and he gave great recommendations on food places to visit when at our last stop in Oia. He was also an excellent photographer! We felt very safe and in excellent hands with both of our tour operators. I highly recommend this tour for families, our children were 15, 13 and 10 and they really enjoyed all of the sights and information given. Thank you Fotis and Costas for an excellent day and way to see the island!
Our guide Nefeli was fantastic — knowledgeable, warm, and clearly loves sharing her island. The tour hit all the highlights: charming villages, stunning caldera views, and beautiful Oia. One of the best surprises was a coffee stop at an incredible little establishment with wonderful wine and the friendliest staff — the kind of authentic spot you'd never find on your own. Perfect pacing for a half-day, especially coming off a cruise ship. Highly recommend!
Our guide was lovely and spoke with a laugh in her voice. It was very difficult not to fall in love with her. However, many of us are coming to see Oia when we come to see Santorini. I definitely did as it was the city of my bucket list and dreams. We were referred to a restaurant where we had overcooked octopus, overcooked, prawns, and in general terrible food we spent an hour there because it took them 25 minutes to get to our table to take an order and then even longer to get our food out so we didn’t get to really see any of the place and she made it very clear that it’s not a favor of hers however it’s a favorite of many of our and a bucket list item. It was interesting to learn the culture, but I felt like we could have spent less time and still had seen Oia. The stars I gave are for her knowledge and history and honesty about how much things cost in Santorini. However, spending thousands and thousands of dollars and that being the top thing I wanted to see, I was exceptionally disappointed and the only reason I’m giving it three stars is because she’s a sweet girl
Thank you for sharing your feedback and for your kind comments about your guide, her knowledge, personality, and professionalism. We are sorry to hear that the restaurant you independently chose during your free time in Oia did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to clarify that a meal or restaurant stop is not included in this tour. The tour follows a scheduled itinerary, with a specific amount of time allocated to each destination. As Oia is one of Santorini’s main attractions, the morning tour normally includes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes there, depending on traffic and operational conditions. The afternoon tour, which includes the sunset, generally allows more than 1 hour and 30 minutes in Oia. Upon arrival, the guide provides orientation, points out the main viewpoints and places of interest, and may suggest a variety of options for coffee, ice cream, lunch, or dinner. Guests are then given free time and may choose how they wish to spend it. Any restaurant visit is entirely optional and is not part of the tour itinerary or included service. We understand your disappointment with the food and the restaurant’s waiting time. Nevertheless, these issues were related to the independently selected restaurant rather than the guided tour itself. We regret that this affected the time you had available to explore Oia and, consequently, your overall impression of the experience. Thank you again for your feedback and for recognizing the efforts of your guide.
Absolutely brilliant! Our guide Fotis was awesome! We learnt a lot about the island & he had a great sense of humour. Kostas, our driver, was also awesome! His driving skills on the narrow roads & hairpin bends was extraordinary. I couldn’t fault this trip at all, thoroughly enjoyed it. We covered a lot of the island, the scenery & viewpoints were amazing & I would absolutely recommend doing it. Thanks guys, overall a great afternoon!
A wonderful experience with Santorini Getaways and our incredible fun and knowledgeable guide Nefeli - the pick up was great bang on time and that set the pace for the afternoon so well organised and the team from the drivers to our guide did an amazing job - courteous and friendly and efficent the villages and all stops showed us how wonderful Santorini is a magical place and we cannot rate our experience highly enough and the little treat from the company of a delicious icecream just before sunset was a lovely touch..Our guide was amazing fun with so much knowledge as she is a local and could relay her own experiences and family stories that added to the story of the island ..
Well informed tour guide and tour was well paced. Having a local guide who was born and grew up on Santorini was great
