Stinky mud and smooth skin

Fantastic service from Jason, with prompt hotel pick-up and great WhatsApp communication the day before. The mud baths were brilliant—yes, the mud stinks, but it’s totally worth it! The salt lakes afterward work like an all-over body scrub and leave your skin remarkably soft.

Stinking experience not to be repeated ... ever!

Paid €33 each for a coach trip to what looked like a flooded industrial salt field with an excavator working in the background in another field. The guide on the coach appeared to give a commentary in all languages except English and just snapped "English - read boards". An information board at the entry point stated the mud rejuvenates the body, but it warns against covering your head or heart area with the sludge. Presumably this is not as safe as it's made out to be. After all, the Black Sea does contain some radiation from Chernobyl .... Rough wooden decking surrounds each field with bathers scooping up black gritty and lumpy sludge from under the murky pink water in cut up plastic milk cartons and applying it all over their bodies. The stench of the sludge was enough to make me gag and want to get back on the coach but i was persueded otherwise. Once covered, and sludge dried, the next part is lying flat in the salty pink water and floating very easily (like the Dead Sea) while gazing at the excavator going about its business, and then attempting to wash it off in the oily pink liquid you're floating in. We ended up leaving the swamp and crossing the road to get in the sea to wash it off which a lot of others also seemed to be doing. Sludge off but the stench stays with you making the coach journey back an experience. Overall, it's definately an experience, but one i'd rather now forget. Save your time and money and probably your health, and put the money towards an early flight home.

Nice trip

The trip was very fine, the guide too,a little expencive. The toilet and changing rom was terrible, there were no place to put your clothes and you need to pay one euro for entering the toilet and then one euro for water in the shower.

Muddy

What a fun trip this was, together with the incredibly sociable and enthusiastic Pavel. The mud is wonderful for your skin, and floating in the salt lakes is fantastic. All in all, a trip you should definitely book if you're in the area.

One for the bucket list

Strange experience covering myself in stinky mud. But fun and the salt lake was lovely. The guide was so friendly and enthusiastic. Only problem, not having your towel to hand. I could have done with wiping water from my eyes.

Dear guest, Thank you for sharing your experience! Covering yourself in the mineral-rich mud is certainly unusual, but we’re glad you had fun and enjoyed the beautiful salt lake. It’s also wonderful to hear that our guide made the excursion even more enjoyable with their friendly and enthusiastic attitude. Thank you as well for mentioning the towel issue. We understand how uncomfortable it can be when water gets into your eyes, and we’ll keep this feedback in mind when improving the experience for future guests. We hope this memorable excursion has earned its place on your bucket list! Guest Experiences Team
