Itinerary

Admission not included30 min

Meet your guide and small group of travelers on the lively Passeig de Gracia outside Casa Amatller, an excellent example of Catalan modernism and a great introduction to the day's venture into modernist architecture pioneered by Antoni Gaudí.

Admission included60 min

Your morning starts at Casa Batlló. Those joining the morning tour will enter and go straight to the most iconic rooms. Your guide will show you the tiny details that make this house so fascinating; from breathing ‘gills’ to the clever play of light in the building’s tiles. As Casa Batlló is overwhelmed with crowds by the time the afternoon starts, those on the afternoon tour will stop outside for commentary from their guide and will visit another equally interesting Gaudí house later in the tour to ensure you get the best Gaudi experience for your selected tour time.

Admission not included30 min

Continue along Passeig de Gràcia to Casa Milà, better known as La Pedrera, one of Antoni Gaudí’s most distinctive works and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From the outside, discover how its undulating stone façade, wrought-iron balconies and unconventional design challenged ideas of what a residential building could be—and learn why Barcelonans nicknamed it “The Stone Quarry.” Please note: Casa Milà is viewed from the exterior; entry is not included.

Pass by

If time allows, the morning tour continues past Casa Vicens, the first major house designed by Antoni Gaudí and an early landmark of Catalan Modernism. Admire its colourful, highly decorative exterior and discover how this lesser-known Gaudí work reveals the beginnings of the distinctive architectural style he would later make famous throughout Barcelona. From here, meet your private transfer and continue to the next part of your Gaudí tour.

Admission included60 min

If option selected - From there, it’s off to Park Guell. Part fanciful explosion of color, part thoughtful study of organic forms, it is a perfect reflection of the natural world. Since this became a ticketed site a few years ago, entrance lines have become extremely long – so it’s a good thing you have skip-the-line access. If you select the Complete Gaudí Express option, Park Guell is not included.

Admission included30 min

Board a private, air-conditioned minibus for a brief transfer between Park Guell and La Sagrada Familia. If you select the Complete Gaudí Express option, your tour includes a short Metro ride to La Sagrada Familia.

Admission not included20 min

Enjoy a short break to grab a coffee or snack. Although this is not included in the tour, your guide will give you recommendations on where to go. If you select the Complete Gaudí Express option, your tour does not include a short break.

Admission included75 min

Finally, you’ll end at Gaudí’s most iconic work: the one and only Sagrada Família. You’ll spend a full hour exploring the church itself, then, unlike most tours, you will go down into the museum to see some of the architect's drawings, models, and calculations, plus a clear view of his tomb. Finish at Sagrada Família, Antoni Gaudí’s most iconic masterpiece and Barcelona’s most famous landmark. With pre-reserved entry, spend a full hour on a guided tour inside the basilica, discovering its soaring interiors, extraordinary use of light, intricate symbolism and the story behind Gaudí’s visionary design. Unlike many Sagrada Família tours, your experience continues into the Sagrada Família Museum, where you’ll see drawings, models and calculations that reveal Gaudí’s creative process and the extraordinary engineering behind the basilica. You’ll also have a clear view of Gaudí’s tomb, offering a fascinating final connection to the architect whose work you’ve explored throughout Barcelona.

Very Informative

It was extremely hot but thank goodness Xavier gave us a good pace. We enjoyed his detailed explanation of Sagrada and other sites.

Marvelous tour; amazing Gaudí

Alberto was an excellent guide: knowledgeable, enthusiastic, accommodating, attentive. We had been warned there would be a lot of walking, so were prepared. He was also sensitive to the extreme heat, seeking shade or a/c whenever possible, and giving us ways to step aside if the temperature were too much. This was our introduction to Gaudí: we will be reading much more about him after a rich encounter with such an extraordinary artist. The only issue we had was the wireless audio devices: the sound quality was abysmal. Whenever possible, we got near enough to hear Albert so we could turn off the distracting ear pieces. Why the company continues to use such poor equipment is a mystery!

Loved it!

Excellent tour!! I never knew I had a favorite architect before but now I do! Daniella was an excellent guide even though the August heat and humidity nearly killed me. They did have an air conditioned bus that took us between places. She really knew so much about Gaudi and I learned a lot! Plus she was really nice :-) Highly recommend!!

There was a lot agreed...

There was a lot of great history and information and the tour guide was a real pro having been doing this job for 40 years. One person on the tour I thought there was more walking than they expected, but it was on one of the hottest days and the guide kept us in the shade as much as possible. The buildings were amazing and I’m totally happy that we went to experience it. A dream come true.

Excellent Tour & Guide

We enjoyed this tour and as others have mentioned, you really do get the most out of these attractions with a guide to give you historical and cultural background information, as well as visual details, that you wouldn't pick up on by yourself unless you were an art history major. We did the afternoon tour, so we visited Casa Vicens instead of Casa Batllo. We had visited Casa Batllo another day on our own. I actually preferred Casa Vicens because it wasn't crowded and chaotic like Casa Batllo was. If we had stayed in Barcelona longer, I would also like to have toured Casa Mila (next door to Casa Batllo), which apparently is furnished, unlike Casa Batllo. The first part of our tour was walking and we had a fairly large group--maybe 15-20 people. Our guide (I think it was Miguel) provided us with earpieces to hear him as we walked. I was not a fan of the earpieces; I couldn't get mine to fit quite right and it would cut in and out. Plus, with the earpiece in, you can't talk to anyone and it's difficult to ask questions. I tried not using the earpiece a couple of times, but with a larger group, and Miguel is soft-spoken, I just couldn't follow what he was saying. We took a quick train ride to get to Casa Vicens and afterwards, a tour van picked us up to travel to Park Guell. Again, without a tour guide, you would miss out on so much information and details. The Park was beautiful and has amazing views of the city! From the park, the van took us to La Sagrada Familia. Before touring the cathedral, we had about 30 minutes to grab something to eat and drink in the plaza across from the cathedral. Another plus of the tour guide option is that we did not have to wait in lines to get into the cathedral. La Sagrada Familia is spectacular inside and out--but especially inside. The way the light plays through the stained-glass windows is extraordinary! This is a must-see on a visit to Barcelona. Our tour ended outside of the cathedral and we had an opportunity to ask our guide additional questions before he left us. I would definitely recommend this tour with the caveat that if you have any hearing issues, the use of the earpieces in order to follow the guide might be a disqualifier. There are times along the way--like while riding in the van--where the earpiece isn't used, but for most of the tour it's required. There may be smaller group options out there that would allow for a more intimate experience that wouldn't require/necessitate any type of listening device.

A Fantastic Overview of Gaudi’s Work

This was an amazing tour! It is 5 hours long, so be prepared for a long day. But such a great overview of Gaudi’s work! We started at the Casa Batlo, then we walked to a meeting place to catch a van ride to Parc Güell. After that, we rode to the Sagrada Família. We had a 40 minute break for a quick lunch before entering the church. Our guide, Oliver, was friendly and knowledgeable about everything. He made the tour throughly enjoyable. He took pictures of us at the sites if we wanted them as well. He really made the experience special!
