Itinerary
The archaeological complex of Pisac, is situated on top of a mountain from where a good part of the sacred valley is dominated. This wonderful place is formed by groups of platforms and architectural structures scattered on the slopes and on the top of the mountain, Pisac is one of the most beautiful monumental centers of the valley because it combines the landscape with the impeccable finish of its constructions.
On the way back to Cusco we will visit the picturesque town of Chinchero, where the remains of the royal hacienda of Túpac Inca Yupanqui are located. You will admire its well preserved Inca Wall in the main square and visit the beautiful colonial temple with interesting frescoes on the porch, built on the foundations of an Inca building. Transfer to the selected hotel in Cusco to spend the night
Lunch at a local restaurant in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. In the afternoon we visit the Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to monitor the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions of the inhabitants of the jungle. We will have the opportunity to walk through the streets of the town and thus have a clear idea of how this military, religious and cultural center was during the Inca Empire.
Our first point of visit will be the picturesque town of Maras, in which place the houses still retain their colonial facades and have a beautiful Church.
We will go to the Archaeological Complex of Moray, which has a system of circular terraces or agricultural terraces, which served as an Inca agricultural laboratory, to experience its new crops.
Salineras 'natural salt wells' which are platforms formed by hundreds of white wells that can be seen from a distance as if it were snow. In colonial times it became the first salt producing center in the southern highlands. They were used for thousands of years and even long before the Inca Empire.
