Drive via 'Qara' mountains. On a road progressively zigzagging up a vertical hill, herds of Camels & Cattle are a commonly spotted on the way which gives a picturesque view of one of Dhofari environments. Stop and visit Wadi Doka in the beginning of Najd (semi-desert) district 35 kilometres north of Salalah towards toward Thumrait (Bedouins settlement). Arrive at this UNESCO registered national reserve that contains 1230 perennial frankincense trees covering an area of 5 km” and have a real experience about this valuable famous tree. In addition to its scented smell, frankincense is also used as a remedial element

Proceed to Thumrait Town to have a few minutes refreshment and may be enjoying the Taste of Arabian cup of Coffee (Qahwah) and Dates (Tamer). The town of Thumrait has been a vital point in the ancient Frankincense trading routes. Gear up as you head to the next stop of lost city of Ubar archaeological.

Fun with friends in dunes

Half day Sunset tour to Empty Quarter
The sunset trip was awesome and we really enjoyed it. Hamid was an outstanding and very knowledgeable guide. We enjoyed the local stories told by him. He took us to any amazing location to view the sunset. Would definitely recommend him . Would love to come back.

Arabian Desert Adventure
What a wonderful adventure into the Arabian Desert! Mohammed was the perfect guide as we toured first the Frankincense trees and he even brought me my own bag as a souvenir! The Desert trip is far but worth the journey! I highly recommend bringing a bottle of wine to watch the sunset. Photos were worth the trip.

Sunset in the desert.
Sunset in the desert is definitely a unique and unforgettable experience.
But also the journey in the plateau that precedes and full of charm.
The trip also includes some stops, all spectacular, in the Wadi, at the top of the mountains and sunset over the sea.
A big difference in these days is the guide. HAMID was fantastic and was able to give us special moments, just in those less touristy and obvious things.

Fantastic desert
Spending a few hours on the desert dunes is priceless! From salalah there are about 2.5 hours by jeep but it is worth it! Thank you Hamid for letting us live this wonderful day
