Rotterdam Zoo Diergaarde Blijdorp Direct Entrance Ticket

Saw many empty tables, the restaurant was closed halfway through, and at others we had to wait an hour for food for 5 people, but we were given an excuse

Great value with Tripadvisor discount. Booked the previous day as we were visiting on an overnight ferry from the UK on a very short day trip. Short walk from our central coach drop off. Really easy to find. Simply to enter just a quick scan of our tickets. The zoo is so big although it did take a while to navigate and we had to backtrack a little to make sure we saw everything (hope we didn’t miss anything), we did stumble across the indoor pond just before we left which was beautiful with a few seats and tables to enjoy the setting of lilly’s, flowers, tropical plants etc. So much to see and you can get very close to lots of the animals. A great trip set over many different zones. One of the biggest wooden climbing/slide area I’ve ever seen, lots of fun for children. Plenty of food and drink outlets at very reasonable prices. I would say to enjoy at a good pace you need a good 5 to 6 hours to not rush round but you could easily spend a full day there. We enjoyed our time there and would recommend for sure

Nice big zoo. All kinds of areas on the continent. You're a lot of walkers. Also plenty of play opportunities for the children. Parking expensive (12,50)

Fantastic zoo! It is massive! Make sure you wear comfy shoes because I couldn’t believe at the size of the site. We first explored the aquarium which was so much fun. The shark tunnel was very impressive. Great value for money and we stayed the full day and managed to see everything. Lots of ice cream stops along the way. There we even an indoor play area which was great to get out the sun for a little while. Great to see beautiful big enclosure for all the animals. The gift shop was also really good

Overall this is a really lovely zoo. It is set out beautifully and it is easy to wander from one region to the next. The aquarium is particularly beautiful and we could have spent hours just in there. It was mesmerising. My biggest disappointment was the polar bear enclosure. This actually made me very sad and a bit angry. The polar bears were outside in the heat, in nothing like their natural habitat. It was almost 30 degrees the day we visited and the bears looked lethargic and unwell. There is no way a polar bear should be subjected to temperatures like that. There is no attempt whatsoever to create an environment that would be suitable for them. There is a pool to swim in but otherwise they are in a hot Savannah-like enclosure. It upset all of us.

Lots of money paid for bad zoo Many animals not present such as; rhino, hippopotamus, chimpanzees, gorilla, wolf, fox, panther and others felines.., lots of fish a lot of fish and very hot in there

Best zoo in the Netherlands! My family and I had a great time in Blijdorp Zoo. It's centrally located in Rotterdam. Easily accessible. You will see a whole lot of unique wild animals. Very interesting. There are snackbars and restaurants if you're hungry! Have fun!
