Rotterdam's monumental City Hall stands on the Coolsingel; it is one of the few large buildings in the city center that survived the World War II bombings.

Grote of Sint-Laurenskerk
Admission not included20 min

St. Lawrence Church is the oldest building in Rotterdam and forms, both literally and figuratively, the historic heart of the city. This imposing Gothic church was built between 1449 and 1525 and was originally dedicated to Saint Lawrence, the patron saint of the poor. If you want you can visit this museum, but tickets are not included in the price of this product/route. Visiting the museum is optional.

Markthal

The Markthal is one of Rotterdam’s most striking modern buildings and an absolute must-see for every visitor. Since opening in 2014, it has become a city icon—a place where architecture, art, food, and living come together under one impressive arch.

Kijk-Kubus
Admission not included30 min

The Cube Houses are arguably the most distinctive homes in the Netherlands. These bright yellow, tilted blocks have been attracting the attention of architecture enthusiasts, tourists, and photographers from around the world since the 1980s. They are a perfect example of how Rotterdam demonstrates boldness in its urban planning choices. De Hef
Pass by

"De Hef" is one of Rotterdam's most famous industrial icons and is officially known as the Koningshaven Bridge. Opened in 1927, this impressive steel railway bridge was a technical marvel at the time. It was the first vertical-lift bridge in Western Europe and played a vital role for years in the rail connection between Rotterdam-South and the city center.

Erasmus Bridge
20 min

The Erasmus Bridge is the most famous symbol of modern Rotterdam and connects the city center with the Kop van Zuid. Opened in 1996, the bridge—thanks to its elegant design—quickly became the definitive icon of the Rotterdam skyline.

Euromast
Admission not included15 min

The Euromast is one of Rotterdam's most famous icons and, at 185 meters, the tallest publicly accessible observation tower in the Netherlands. The tower was built for the 1960 Floriade and designed by architect Hugh Maaskant. Originally 101 meters tall, the rotating Euroscoop was added in 1970, allowing visitors to ascend to a height of 185 meters. Fun and organized Rotterdam Self-Guided Walking Tour

We had a quick stop in Rotterdam in between the two legs of our Holland America cruise. This walking tour was a perfect filler. The directions were very easy to follow, and the stops were amazing. The tour operator went out of her way to make sure our experience was enjoyed to the fullest. Thank you, Petra! If you have a spare few hours in Rotterdam, I highly recommend this experience!

Lovely tour with all the time!

Super nice walk with lots of cool places! Lovely that it is a self-guided tour so there is enough space for terraces and drinks in between! Highly recommended!

I can definitely recommend this route!

I came across this walking route and after looking at some other options I still purchased this route. It was a very nice route that clearly describes how to walk. You're not sure for a while? Then a google map helps - link further. I learned a lot about Rotterdam and can definitely recommend this route!
