The Plaza Mayor (English: Main Square) is a major public space in the heart of Madrid, the capital of Spain. Plaza de Santa Ana (English: Saint Anne Square) is a plaza located in central Madrid, Spain, nearby Puerta del Sol and Calle de Huertas, in the Barrio de las Letras. It features monuments to Spanish Golden Age writer Pedro Calderón de la Barca and to the poet and playwright Federico García Lorca and numerous restaurants, cafes and tapas bars, with its terraces covering most of the sides surfaces.

The Barrio de las Letras (also called the literary and the muses neighborhood) is an area of the city of Madrid, located in the neighborhood of Cortes, in the Center district of the capital. The area is delimited, to the west, by Calle de la Cruz and Plaza de Jacinto Benavente; to the east, by the Paseo del Prado; to the north, by the Carrera de San Jerónimo; and, to the south, by Atocha street. Some of its most emblematic streets are Calle de las Huertas, Calle del Prado, Calle de Echegaray, and the Plaza del Ángel and Plaza de Santa Ana.
