Rome Night Walking Tour: Ghosts, Legends & Haunted Rome

Description
Explore the darker side of the Eternal City on a haunted walking tour by moonlight. After this tour, you’ll never see the city’s most famous squares, churches and bridges in the same way again. Armed with an interactive "Ghost Hunter Kit", you and a group of fellow thrill seekers will learn the secrets of how to spot Rome's most famous ghosts. You'll follow an expert ghostie guide on a haunted route of Rome's historic centre, where you'll discover a chapel decorated with human bones, a bridge long lined with corpses, and other horrifying sights that will keep you up late at night. At each stop, an expert ghostie guide will tell you eerie tales of ghosts, ghastly murders, and chilling executions involving infamous popes, emperors, and even artists. We'll bring paranormal Rome to life through morbid storytelling and chilling video recreations, and when the tour's over, you'll receive a "certificate of survival"...if you survive, of course.

Itinerary
We begin in Campo de' Fiori, one of Rome's most famous piazza's. Now known for its lively bars and restaurants it was once an execution site and is the perfect place to start our spooky adventure!
This beautiful square was a former party hub and is home to a scandalous legend involving a secret passageway and two popes.
Along our route we’ll discover several madonelles or “little madonnas” and we’ll learn about how they worked to stop crime.
The oldest bridge in Rome, Ponte Sisto has a gruesome past that involved tragic accidents, power struggles, theft and of course, suspicious deaths.
Unlike other fountains in Rome, this one bears a warning to all those who dare drink from it.
This 17th century church decorated in human remains from long ago reminds visitors that death is just around the corner.
Now a haunted apartment block, this was the site of one of the worst prisons in Rome’s history.
This Spanish church in the heart of Rome bears a saucy story worthy of a telenovela.
This former bar had an even earlier history as a beauty shop. Here you’ll learn about the story of when cosmetics can kill.
This seemingly quaint house once belonged to Rome’s most famous executioner “Mastro Titta”.
The bridge that was used to expose the bodies of the executed to be a warning to sinners is now surrounded by statues of angels and tells the story of the Cenci family and how they met their fatal end.
