5 min

We’ll take a brief stop in the Monti district—once known as the Suburra, the gritty heart of ancient Rome. Today, it’s one of the city’s most intriguing neighborhoods, where centuries-old alleyways whisper stories of emperors and outcasts. From here, a stunning view opens over the Imperial Fora, revealing how the ancient and medieval layers of the city weave seamlessly together.

2 min

From this spot, you’ll overlook the Circus Maximus, once the largest stadium in the ancient world, capable of holding up to 300,000 roaring spectators. It was here that chariot races like those in Ben-Hur captivated the Roman crowds, with teams thundering past at incredible speed. Just beyond, rising above the track, is the Palatine Hill—home of emperors, who watched the spectacle from their luxurious palaces. Today, the noise has faded, but the scale, the setting, and the stories remain just as powerful.

Pass by

From the Mouth of Truth, we head into the Forum Boarium, one of Rome’s oldest market areas. Here you'll find the Temple of Hercules Victor, a rare circular temple in marble, and the elegant Temple of Portunus, overlooking the Tiber. Nearby stands the imposing Arch of Janus, mysterious and massive. We continue to the Theatre of Marcellus, often mistaken for a mini Colosseum. What makes it even more extraordinary? A Renaissance palace built on top by the Savelli family—and yes, people still live there today. Layers of Rome, literally.

Best and coolest way to sightsee Rome in summer

Been to Rome many times but after reading about this tour and knowing the temperatures were going to be high for walking about, we decided to book. What a great evening, our guide was excellent with his knowledge and stories and didn't mind our questions. We stopped by the many main attractions and other areas we've never been to too. After 3 great hours, we were dropped off at the top of the Spanish Steps, just about sunset. What a wonderful tour.

Best way to see all of Rome's sights

We've been to Rome many times, due to the very warm weather we decided to book this tour to save us walking around the city while doing some sightseeing. So pleased we did, our tour guide was great. Very informative, answered many questions we all had while being patient, friendly and helpful. Visited a few places we'd never been too, told lots of facts and stories new to us and had a very enjoyable 3 hours. Finished at the top of the Spanish Steps just before sunset. Such a great night.

Great way to see the sites in crowded Rome. LOVED IT!

We traveled with my elderly father and this was a perfect was to see the sights. Our guide grew up in the area and knew so much of Roman history. He brought the sites to life with the stories and details, moved from one century to the next, one Emporer to the next with ease and enthusiasm. I recommend doing this tour early in your stay in Rome so you will have more understanding of what you are seeing in the coming days.

Thank you so much for your wonderful words! It truly means a lot to me that you appreciated the stories and the way I bring the city’s history to life. Rome isn’t just a collection of monuments — it’s a living tapestry of people, passions, and centuries of culture. My goal is always to make guests feel that energy rather than just hear the facts. I’m really touched that it resonated with you. You were such an attentive and curious guest — the perfect company for exploring the Eternal City! 🇮🇹✨

Amazing Experience!

We had a wonderful tour with Ivano! We booked for a group of 7, but luckily we had the tour to ourselves. We saw so many parts of the city - a great way to get an overview and understanding of this incredible city! Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly and we felt safe and entertained the entire time. We went at 6:30pm - glad we had a jacket (May) as it did get cool toward the end of the tour.

Your words honestly made my day! Knowing that you enjoyed both the famous sights and the hidden corners means a lot — that’s exactly what I love to share with my guests. Rome has endless magic if you know where to look, and it’s a joy to see people fall in love with it. Thank you again for the five stars and for being such lovely company! 🌞

Fun Way to See A Lot of Rome

What a fun way to see a lot of tourist sites at one time. We booked the twilight tour so we could see the sites lighted and this tour did not disappoint. Our guide was a little late due to traffic from a concert, but he made sure we got to spend time at and take photos of a LOT of places, including the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Mouth of Truth, Colosseum, Forum, Pantheon, Soldier’s Memorial, and overlook in Travestere. The ride was a lot of fun (and a little scary) and our guide was so friendly. Thank you for a fun evening.

Operator response

Your kind words mean so much — thank you! I’m really glad you enjoyed every part of the tour. It’s guests like you who make this job so rewarding.
