We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill with Art Ticket and Tour. At the beginning, we got to see the Mamertine Museum while we waited for our guides, and visited the dungeon where St Peter and St Paul were held. We were then shown all around the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, and our guide showed us Julius Caesar's temple. After that, we moved on to the Colosseum, where we didn't have to queue for too long. While it was of course very busy, we still got to see everything and take photos. The tour ended here, so we were free to explore the Colosseum ourselves from there. Our tour guides were very friendly and informative, we would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rome!
The tour was very good but viator sent us the wrong meeting location and it took the tour company 30 minutes to find us.
I don’t recommend this service. Our guide was late so we ended up missing half the tour. We were rushed through the Foro, we could all barely keep up and we couldn’t access the Domus Tiberiana - the guide said she didn’t know it closed at 4pm (how could she not know that?) and just kind of waved it off saying there wasn’t much to see anyway. We then got to the Colosseum, which was amazing but since she was late (Marcia I think her name was) we ended up not being able to go to the Palatino afterwards. We could barely understand what she was saying and just overall wasn’t a good guide. The Gladiator YouTube music played though the mic was really cheesy and what she was saying sounded like a parrot fashioned script unvaried since the 80s. Attilio (the other tour guide who accompanied us through the Colosseum) was really nice and knowledgeable in all fairness (and he was the one who actually showed up on time). However I feel this was way too much for a poor and disorganized tour - I feel like I paid over one hundred bucks to see the Colosseum and to be rushed through the Foro (and not even see all of it) plus miss the Palatino. You could tell they were trying to cover it up but I would have appreciated it more if they would have just been honest with us instead of disappearing and leaving us inside the Colosseum before we could figure out we couldn’t then go to the Palatine as per the itinerary. I’m giving one star since I complained privately asking for an at least partial refund which I think was fair all things considering (especially the fact that I am considering buying tickets to go again to view these sites properly) and they refused.
Dear customer, We are sorry to read your review and about the experience you describe, although we would like to clarify a few points. The guide follows a scheduled program and receives a fixed salary, independent of the price paid for the tour. We understand that you may associate the cost of the experience with the service received; however, we would like to point out that you were still able to visit an additional monument that was not originally included in the itinerary. Regarding any changes to the program, these may depend on external factors such as site access times or the management of archaeological areas, which are not always predictable. We regret that the experience did not meet your expectations and we will take your feedback into consideration to improve our service. Kind regards Art Ticket end tour
Really enjoyed the Colosseum tour ,it was well organized and never felt rushed, which made a big difference given how busy it can get. A special mention to our guide, Mery. She explained things in a simple and clear way, without overloading us with information, and added interesting details that you wouldn’t catch on your own.
The Colosseum Arena tour was fantastic. The guide was excellent and the staff was impeccable. Great organization! I can't wait to use your services again. Thank you!"
Attilio made us feel like we were part of those days; such fun! He also gave lively, interesting descriptions of the actual Coliseum and the ancient buildings around it. A truly good time!
