Reykjavik Premium Puffin tour | Close Up and Personal

Description
Leaving from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík, this is the ultimate puffin adventure tour. This tour is operated in our custom made RIB boats. They are specially designed to get you as close as possible to the islands and when possible we can switch them completely off to give the birds (and you) some peace and quiet to enjoy nature. During the tour your guide and captain will tell you interesting facts and tales about the puffins and the surroundings. Our RIBs are also the fastest boats in the harbour, meaning that on a short tour you will spend the majority of you time with the birds. Elding is an environmentally friendly company and recognised worldwide for its environmental efforts. The aim, mission and goal is to minimise the operational impact on the environment while offering an unforgettable experience at sea.

Highly recommend. We saw so many puffins!
This was terrific! Our guide Maria is a marine biologist, enthusiastic and full of information about puffins as well as other wildlife we saw. We went to two puffin islands, got as close as we could given it was low tide. Then we sat still and watched hundreds of puffins on shore, in the water around us, flying over us.
Fun easy excursion, very informative. We knew going in you weren’t going to be right beside the puffins, but we still got a good look, and it was nice that the tour sent us pics they took with their telephoto lens. Would recommend.
You see Puffins on the island, in the water and flying. We were also lucky enough to see a seal swimming.
We chose the larger boat on the understanding that it wouldn’t be as rough as the smaller vessel but that was not a good choice. There are tours that get much closer to the islands and some that include getting out of the boat onto the island. On our trip, we were unable to get any decent photos..This particular trip was not good value and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it.
Amazing rib boat experience. Great crew and perfect close up sighting Staff at desk very helpful and crew was great. Plus, which we didn’t realize, one of the crew, Matteo, took pictures and emailed us. Amazing
We got suited n booted in the office and stood arround boiling was we waited for our Rib boat to collect us. Once out of the harbour we were soon zipping along at pace towards the Island where the puffins were nesting. The Rib is able to get in close to the rocky cliffs so you get an intimate view of these fascinating little birds. They were also flying off directly above the baot. Also saw a seal close-up. The naturalist on boat was passionate about the puffins and made sure we knew all about them in detail and what we need to do to protect them (ie, not eat them as a local delicacy in restaurants). We powered over to another Island to watch more puffins before heading back.
12 person RIB boat pretty much ensures you will get close to the Puffins. We saw over a thousand, and were able to get good shots with my iphone. Our guide Rachel was very knowledgeable and answered all questions.
Took speedboat to the islands in Reykjavik Bay. Puffins surrounded us randomly as they dove, fished, and returned to the island to feed their young. Maria is a marine biologist who gave us a lesson on the lifecycle and impact of the puffin on the local ecosystem. They are very cute also and make for awesome photographs too! PS: I decided to do this after learning that Elding is the vendor. We had an awesome whale watching experience with Elding last week!
Well organised and with enough information given beforehand. Our guide had good knowledge about the puffins and the other water birds that we saw. The only issue was that the RIB boats, being light, kept bouncing around, so it was difficult to focus either camera or binoculars. The puffin pictures shared later by the company was also nothing great. The whole experience of the rib boat ride in red overalls was wonderful, though.
