Amazing trip South to Vik, canyons and glacier lagoon. Pick up was prompt at 7:30am and we returned around 10:30pm that evening. It is definitely a long day, but well worth it. The canyon was the star of the show- definitely a must see. Our guide, Hoskuldur (Hershey) was perfect. Super knowledgeable and took well care of us. Recommend this tour.
I had a great tour guide named Hershy(really he has a much longer name, but he told us to call him Hershy). He was knowledgeable and told us a lot of facts and local loar. He was friendly and welcomed questions.
It was an extremely long day, but the tour was absolutely amazing and showed several of the most beautiful locations in southern Iceland. The Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach were some of the main highlights of my entire trip. We also got to see seals swimming in the ocean.
Did a 16 hour Glacier Lagoon with our driver, Gummi. Here's how it went, in great detail: 1st stop: driver 12 mins late to return! He had foot on gas as we were exiting the bus on 2nd or 3rd stop He was slowly driving away with door wide open while last person was returning from bathroom! And then again later on! Kept talking about seat belts being the law but kept answering and taking calls by hand while driving multiple times for several minutes. Forgot to turn wifi on for the first several hours and blamed it on the company for giving the "wrong password". Kept snapping "This is a VIP vehicle! let's keep it clean!" when i came back with wet feet instead of asking if i needed anything. We spend over $200 and they vaccum after, so no need to nag like it's his home. At least phrase it politely. For such a long tour less commentary would be ideal. We forget most of it after 2 hours anyways. Also too many stops at continence stores. And no hot lunch was a bummer. Had to do with 10 mins at one of the few options at the lagoon at the 3 food trucks around 4pm. Most troubling: At the end, after letting off a family of 4 he knew he would get tipped from, Gummi Lectured 2 people who barely spoke English and myaelf for 3 mins before letting them off bus at the end, about talking and lateness saying they wouldve been stranded and most guides would have left them! It was scary and he made the tour length even longer because of it. Change your driver, shorten the amount of speaking and less stops for shops and it would be a 4 star tour--5 if we could do a hot lunch! Highlights: Canyon (stop 1) & lagoon boat. Disappointing: Diamond beach (tiny glaciers)
This is the best tour so far in Iceland. Every stop had just the right amount of time allocated, including breaks for meals. Our guide Ian is an extremely skilful driver and offered insightful facts about Iceland.
A fantastic experience, landscapes of great beauty, a very friendly guide. It's a shame that you don't have, like on some excursions, audio headsets to translate the guide's explanations, in French in our case, other than this it's an experience we highly recommend.
A long day but well worth it. It would have been even better if we could have slightly more time at each stop. However, given how much distance we covered, I’d say it was the right balance. Gummi, the tour guide, was wonderful.
The Guide was entertaining and knowledgable. Fun group of people! Everything was smooth and according to plan. Outstanding sites!
We had a great experience on this trip. All the places that were covered were very beautiful. The only drawback was that we had a flat tyre while coming back and the driver was not having any expertise on the same. So we had to wait for almiost 1.5 hours til some help came. But otherwise it was a great one day trip and the driver/guide gave us lot of information during the trip
Seeing this side of Iceland was such a treat. It was a long ride but I barely noticed with all the beautiful sights and our very knowledgeable driver giving us so many facts about Iceland’s history. To top it all off, we got the chance to see the northern lights. What a magical tour!
