Zip, abseil, slide and plunge your way through one of Queenstown’s hidden natural playgrounds. Exclusive 12 Mile Canyon is surrounded by native beech forest and filled with clear pools, waterfalls, narrow passageways and natural rock chutes. It’s a uniquely New Zealand adventure and a chance to experience a wild landscape most visitors never get to see. Canyon Explorers provides two guides on every trip, offering more support, clear instruction and greater flexibility for both first-timers and experienced adventure seekers. Free trip photos are included, and after the canyon you can return to our purpose-built base for changing facilities, a hot shower and a complimentary tea, coffee or hot chocolate. With a convenient central Queenstown check-in location and all the extras included, you can focus on the adventure from start to finish.

Great experience with Canyoning
It is an amazing experience of Canyoning with variety of activities like Walking, Ziplining, rock abseiling, jumping into water along with waterfalls from different heights and swim though high current cold water till the end of activity. Whole activity took about 4 hours. All in one package and a perfect adventurous activity for family / friends who want to taste the adventure in Queenstown. Memorable experience for life! A must do activity in Queenstown, And Canyon Explorers did it fantastically.

Uniquely exciting
Oscar and Josh were great and had an awesome time doing something completely different. Both were great at guiding us through. Throughout the canyon they offer you options to do certain extra things like some cliff jumps or swim underneath a waterfalls which is great if you fancy it.

Great experience
Enjoyed this so much was able to really challenge myself - loved rock slides, ziplining and abseiling. Cliff jump was scary but so fun!! Guides Paige and Josh were outstanding- knowledgeable and patient

Great adventure with so much variety!
Took our 3 daughters with us (14, 14 & 15) and what a great adventure and introduction to canyoning! The guides were incredible Paige, Josh and Tim made everyone feel at ease and we all had so much fun. There is a great range of activities and we all loved every minute of our adventure!

Zipped rappled slid and dunked with a massive smile
The guides Tim n Jay were very personable. Awesome experience, well worth the price and the short drive to and from the canyon means you get the maximum amount of time canyoning. Very highly recommended

Fun adventure experience
It was such a great time. You got to jump into the river and do some awesome scrambling. The views were amazing

Awesome Adventure
We did the half day canyoning and it was great. The guides were really friendly. The views were incredible. We got to do some exciting aspects without being too difficult or scary. My wife doesn’t like heights and was ok to be pushed a little while I still got to do a couple of exciting jumps. Good balance and we both had fun.
