Puerto Plata Private City Tour with Local Guide

We did a private tour as a shore excursion. Jose picked us up right at the taxi pick up at the port early so we were able to beat the large groups on the buses from ship. We stopped at a rum factory, chocolate store, church and a restaurant by the beach. We had a great time and a much more leisurely experience than any of tours the ship offered. It was also easier to do it this way with the seniors and the children in our group. It was a great family owned business. Highly recommend!

Jesus “Castro” was fantastic. It seems like everyone knew him. Small area I’m sure they do! Visited while on a cruise. The best experience we could have hoped for. We had Jesus as our tour guide! He stayed with us the whole time, explained so much of the city, and took us to the spots we wanted to see and hidden gems we didn’t know we wanted to see! Will definitely book again when we return!

Alex was a wonderful tour guide! He was very friendly and passionate about his career, which made him a great person to introduce us to the area. We really enjoyed learning from him as he escorted us around Puerto Plata. It was very easy to communicate with the tour operator, and in fact they were extremely flexible as I had originally listed the incorrect port and once I realized and notified the team, they had no issue and met us at the correct port.

Jose was amazing. He tailored the tour to what we wanted. The vehicle was new, clean, and cold bottle waters were available. This private tour was the best!
