We were feeling pretty jaded by our previous experiences with hiring a driver. We found ourselves in the middle of scams and tourist-trap restaurants where the drivers make a commission. But not Ashik!!! This guy is honest, reliable, and a great driver. It was surprising and refreshing. We asked him questions about the area, the flag, everything! He is passionate about his region and his country. He took his time with us. He stopped by the side of the road so we could grab sunrise photos (his suggestion!!) He waited in line in the cold to buy our tickets Horton Plains. He took us to the train station after and secured us train tickets for the next day- my husband swears that if we didn't have Ashik, we wouldn't have gotten a seat; he knows the ins-and-outs. He was arranged for us by our hotel, and we won the lottery getting to have him as a driver. He is hard working, and driven and so customer-oriented. He makes everyone feel relaxed. He was willing to take us anywhere, including tea factories if that was something we wanted to do but there was never any pressure. We hired him to take us to the train station the next day also. And even recommended where we should eat in Ella. He is the best, truly! Since our trip, I believe he became a first-time Dad! So congrats to you and your wife, Ashik, and thanks for being such an honest and decent human!
