Itinerary

Admission included360 min

Leave Paris at 7:00 am in an air-conditioned premium vehicle for an exceptional day in Normandy. Relax and admire the beautiful scenery of the French countryside before arriving at the Caen Memorial Museum around 10:15 AM. This memorial, also known as the Peace Museum, was erected to explain the different phases of the Second World War, in particular those of the Battle of Normandy and the advance of the Allies on French territory. During your visit, discover many everyday objects dating from the occupation, maps, miniature military vehicles as well as film screenings recreating the atmosphere of the D-Day landings and the Battle of Normandy. Enjoy a lunch (not included) at the Memorial de Caen restaurant.

120 min

In the afternoon, continue the visit to iconic sites that played a key role during the D-Day landings. Make your first stop at Pointe du Hoc, overlooking a cliff several tens of meters high and located between Utah Beach and Omaha Beach. Assaulted by American Rangers on June 6, it was a strategic fortified site for the Germans along the Normandy coast, and was equipped with heavy artillery at the time.

60 min

Visit the famous American cemetery in Saint-Laurent, located just above Omaha Beach and very close to Colleville-sur-Mer. Observe these 70 hectares where there are 9,387 white tombstones, perfectly aligned with the grass, a memorial, a chapel and the Garden of the Missing. This site pays tribute to the American soldiers who died during the Battle of Normandy. Go down to Omaha Beach by a small path and take the opportunity to walk on the sand. Take an hour to explore the area.

120 min

Then stop at Arromanches, a historic town known for its man-made harbor which was built to help during the D-Day landings. It was here that nearly 10,000 supplies arrived on D-Day. See the reinforced concrete floating caissons called Phoenix to this day.

180 min

Before returning to Paris, make a short stop near Juno Beach and its cemetery, one of the beaches where Canadian troops landed on June 6, 1944. You will be back in Paris around 9:00 pm.

Very nice driver. Not a tour.

Very pleasant young man as the driver but for $960 not a good choice. The car was a small personal car. My wife and I are tall and 7 plus hours in a cramped back seat was not good. He provided a few comments at the sites but I expected a tour with detailed information explaining the area, why we were there, background, etc. I have been on many tours and this was not a tour.

Operator response

We are sorry that this trip did not fully meet your expectations. Nevertheless the visits were in conformity with the description of the product which specifies the sites which can be commented on by a guide.
