Our guide Kostas is passionate about the history and culture of Greece. His enthusiasm and superior English language skills gave us a rewarding experience as we followed the path of St Paul to sites where he introduced the gospel to the Corinthians. We made noteworthy stops to a small museum with beautiful statuary and a half-submerged church by the sea where those who converted to Christianity were baptized. A memorable day trip from Athens.
We are truly grateful for your thoughtful review! It is wonderful to know that Kostas’ knowledge, enthusiasm, and storytelling helped make your journey through the footsteps of St. Paul so meaningful. Thank you for sharing your experience, and we are very happy that this day trip became such a special memory for you.
We had the most wonderful experience on our 7 day your following in the steps of apostle Paul. Aggelos, our driver was the most spectacular driver we have had in our 30 years of travelling. He was welcoming, knowledgeable and just like a guardian angel (aptly named Aggelos!). Aggelos was even cheerful, professional and skillful in driving us all through Greece in trying conditions of a farmer protest. We ❤️ Aggelos! Our tour guides for each city were extremely knowledgeable and passionate, many having PhDs and master degrees in archaeology and history. The vast knowledge they imparted to us in very short periods of time made our trip extremely worthwhile. We wish we could travel all around the world with them! We especially love Vasilis in Athens and George in Thessaloniki! The company was very well organised and structured our tour very well! We strongly recommend exploring Greece with Private tours Greece and will definitely be wanting to come back for another!
Aggelos, Vasilis and George will be delighted to know they were such a memorable part of your journey. It was our pleasure to organize your tour, and we can’t wait to welcome you back to explore more of Greece in the future!
I traveled with family and friends, 9 of us, on a specifically designed private tour for 12 days. From my first email aeking about the trip until the final drop-off, I was pleased with this company. Eleni designed our trip. She understood what I wanted, how much time we had, what was important to us. She designed a complete and efficient trip. The pricing was excellent. Fontini and Lia took over from her for the detailed operations. They were in contact with me, answered all logistical questions, and were prompt with details, itinerary, ferry tickets, boarding passes. And, but not least, Panos, our driver, made it all work each day! He was not just a driver. He became our friend. He made suggestions for meals and we ate well. He was in contact with our local guides from stop to stop. He took great care of us. He made our itinerary come to life! Each local guide was an expert. Our hotels were excellent. We left Greece very happy.
Dear Patsy, We cannot describe how happy we are with your kind review. Our common target from setting up the itinerary of a trip to every last detail about it upon a tour is that we create memorable experiences in wonderful Greece. We truly appreciate your kind words and will share them with all our colleagues. Your review makes us improve our services and become better for future travelers! We really wish to have the opportunity to welcome you in Greece once more in the future! Kind regards, Private Tours Greece Team
The driver and guide provided by Private Tours Greece arrived for pick up early. The driver was dressed in a suit and the guide was professionally dressed. We discussed the order of the trip and we highlighted our goals. Over the course of the nine hours we saw every landmark and site we expected and more. The guide was with us nonstop and answered each and every question posed. The guide understood our goals and highlighted very specific items that were of interest related to Apostle Paul's story from ancient Corinth to Mars Hill. We saw the Tomb of the Unknown, the Olympic Stadium, Aristotle's Lyceum, Corinth Canal, Ancient Corinth, Agora's, Acropolis Museum, Acropolis, Plaka, etc. Between the driver and the guide, our day was full and no time was wasted. One of the best tours we have been on! From content, sites, and guide/driver, a must do activity if you are interested about Biblical History in Athens/Corinth.
Hello dear Patrick, we would like to thank you for your kind words! We really appreciate it and are glad that you enjoyed your full day tour! We would be happy to arrange another visit for you in Greece!
The views were amazing. It has been three weeks since we have returned, and I am still in awe of the many experiences looking through photos. Our driver, George, became like family. He was kind and gifted. Our guides were very informative. There were a couple hiccups along the way which were addressed quickly and to our satisfaction, Effie is very attentive to our needs and requests. I miss it already! My only negative, if I had to search for one, was to have more biblical scholar teaching, the guides were well versed in history but I would have like more scriptural references.
The best part of having a private tour is the interaction with the guide and also allowing the guide to sense the interests of the group. Large groups make this more challenging or not an option. Maria, our guide, did this exceptionally well. She is a really great tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and personable. Her interaction with people in our group, (3 couples), answering questions and asking us questions, was really exceptional. I highly recommend her for this tour. We learned a lot about Corinth, St. Paul and the Acropolis without it being too much. Our ability to listen to excessive detail was diminished, having been on tours for the past 9 days. The pace she guided our group was perfect. The information was interesting but not excessive. The coffee stop and restaurant recommendation were great choices. Maria was one of the best tour guides we had during our 12 day vacation. Dimitri was our driver. He was very good too. He drove a lot and we never were concerned about his driving. He was pleasant and flexible with an additional stop between Corinth and Athens. And he was always ready and waiting for us after each stop. I am also very appreciative for all the work Effie and Eleni did customizing this tour. They were very helpful and accommodating with every question and request. I highly recommend this company.
Such a disappointement to be up and ready to have our driver never show up. We spent two hours of our vacation just trying to find a supplement. Yes we had a driver, but we lost our tour guide and feel we missed out on so much. Reimbursement wasn't nearly enough. will not recommend viator to anybody.
We would like to inform you that there was a system error that resulted in us not receiving your reservation on time. Nevertheless, you proceeded with the tour with our experienced driver, despite a two-hour delay, but unfortunately, we were unable to provide you with a guide due to the last-minute nature of the request. We did process the reimbursement for the guide, but please understand that if your booking was made through another provider, the amount you receive might be lower than expected. We deeply regret any inconvenience caused and understand the disappointment this may have caused you. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we will work to improve our systems to avoid such issues in the future. We appreciate your understanding and hope to have the opportunity to make it up to you in the future.
We were emotional when we stopped at the seashores where Paul got into the boat to leave Corinth to Ephesus. What a life! We were also touched to sit right on the areas where he first preaches in Athens and the gospel truly spread to the important areas of the world from there.
Dear valued client, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your heartfelt review with us. We are delighted to hear about the emotional impact your visit had on you, particularly when you stopped at the seashores where Paul departed from Corinth to Ephesus. It must have been an awe-inspiring moment to reflect on the incredible journey that Paul embarked on to spread the gospel. We also understand how touching it must have been for you to sit in the very areas where Paul delivered his first sermons in Athens. Those moments hold immense historical and spiritual significance, as the gospel spread from there to reach important areas across the world. Your feedback is truly appreciated, as it gives us great joy to know that our destination holds such profound meaning for our visitors. We strive to create meaningful experiences that connect people with the rich history and spiritual heritage of these remarkable places. Thank you once again for sharing your experience, and we hope to welcome you back for more inspiring moments in the future. Warm regards,
Despoina and Yiannis were both knowledgeable about biblical history of Athens and Corninth. They were also very accommodating for our elderly parent's mobility issues. Their English was good and they both had credentials that enabled them to give us an informative tour. The trip was great but there was not enough time to enjoy both Athens and Corinth. We were rushed due to traffic and having to make it back on the ship. The communication with the office via text was slow, maybe because of the weekend? This left us feeling stressed about the administrative part of booking the tour. However Effie reached out to us and assured us.
We had a wonderful time. Learned so much! It was awesome! It was so cool to see the places I’ve only studied about.
