This was in late July 2026. We are a family of four - parents and young adults. We wanted to visit St Andrews (for the golf history) and visit Dundee (family ancestry). Adding in Dunnottar Castle was the best added tour as it was our list to see. Our guide, John, was tremendous and put up with our Dundee address search. It was a full day. The castle wasn't crowded but there were people there doing the same thing. Weather with pretty good too. We had a bite to eat at the food stand there too and it was fairly good. St Andrews was a bucket list visit for our golfers. Also the walk around the town of St Andrews was great for its history and the Abbey ruin is beautiful. I highly recommend this private tour!
We had an absolutely amazing two-day tour with Lewis! From start to finish, everything was seamless and comfortable. Lewis customized an itinerary to include a visit to my husband’s ancestral town, which made the trip incredibly meaningful. Along the way, we explored the breathtaking Northwest Highlands, Loch Ness, St Andrews, and Inverness—each stop brought fascinating history to life thanks to Lewis’s deep knowledge and engaging storytelling. He went above and beyond, from finding us the perfect hotel to ensuring we had dinner at the best local spots. Traveling in comfort while learning so much made this the best trip we’ve ever taken. If you’re considering a tour of Scotland, you won’t have a better guide!
We did a two day tour of Scotland with Lewis and it was amazing! He taught us a lot about Scottish history and personalized the tour for what we wanted to see as a family. He went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our time and he is also a photographer so he took some amazing family photos for us.
Lewis was absolutely fantastic. He was so accommodating for whatever we wanted to do and fitting it all in the timeframe. Gave us great recommendations for other things to do around Edinburgh as well.
Lewis provided us with a great day to St Andrews, as well as some unplanned welcome extra stops. We asked for a change to the itinerary during the trip and he found us a distillery tour that was worthwhile. He has a great demeanor, entertaining and knowledgeable.
Lewis was fantastic! Knowledgeable, friendly and very accommodating, he made sure we were able to visit many areas, and provided excellent information throughout the day. I would highly recommend this tour, and would absolutely rebook.
This was my FAVORITE tour of the three we did while staying in Edinburgh. While they were all great, this one was so personalized to my family. Lewis & John were awesome tour guides with tons of historical knowledge as well as a GREAT sense of humor. Dunnottar castle was our favorite castle of the many we got to see & tour. Can’t recommend this tour enough!
It was a tailor-made journey with a fantastic travel guide, Lewis. He not only showed me the coastline but also indulged me with local stories and a balanced amount of history. HIghly recommended.
We chose this tour because of the locations it would hit and the awesome price. It delivered on both, but we didn’t expect our guide Lewis to be an even better aspect of it! Can’t overstate how kind, amenable and knowledgeable he was. Dunnottar and St Andrew’s were incredible, and made only more so by the company and information he gave us. Can’t recommend this company enough!
Excellent guide and tour. We really enjoyed the day. Our guide was informative and kept the tour fun.
