What an amazing trip to Chichén Itzá with Manny and our driver, Dennis. Manny was a fantastic tour guide, bringing the history to life with his knowledge and enthusiasm. We were also taken to the beautiful town of Valladolid for lunch, which was a lovely addition to the day. It was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. If you’re visiting, this trip is an absolute must! Highly recommended.
Had a great tour with Ivan and Denis our driver. They make a good double act slagging one another’s food choice and driving styles. Ivan has a keen and passionate interest in the history he was very ably recounting to us. We left totally awed and enthralled. The Xenote was very impressive and our dip in it refreshing after the tour in Chichén Itzá. I was the butt of much ribbing and abuse from my family throughout and expected more support from Ivan as a fellow dad but to my dismay he joined in! Turns out Mexicans are as good at dishing abuse as Irish! 😂 Despite this thoroughly recommend!
We had a wonderful private tour with Ivan. There were four of us, including my mother who is over 70 years old, and Ivan was very kind, patient, and accommodating throughout the entire trip. He made everyone feel comfortable and adjusted the pace for my mother so she would not feel rushed. He also came prepared with cold water, even frozen water, which was very helpful in the hot weather. He also brought an umbrella for shade, which showed how thoughtful and prepared he was. Ivan explained everything in detail, answered our questions, and helped us understand the history and culture behind the places we visited. He also took great photos for us, which we really appreciated. Overall, Ivan was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and very considerate. We felt well taken care of the entire day. I would definitely recommend this tour, especially if you are traveling with family or older parents.
Ivan was a FANTASTIC tour guide! He knew to take us early so that we missed the crowds and was super knowledgeable about any questions we had.
This excursion was hands down worth every penny! The pickup was on time and the drive to Chichen Itza was filled with information, stories and jokes. Manny was a great guide and helped us along the way either his wealth of information, guiding us through talking with the street vendors and purchasing items, handling our lunch orders, and bringing us to an amazing cenote. This couldn’t have been done without Dennis, the most safe and reliable driver I’ve had on an excursion. I would highly recommend booking with Tours With Mike. It will be a forever experience that you will talk about for years.
I spent hours trying to convince my husband we didn’t need a private tour for our honeymoon. What a mistake. Manny was absolutely amazing, we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. He was with us from the beginning to the end explaining and answering questions, he was so polite and hilarious. He made the trip so much more exciting, the drive was smooth and we learned so much! I’m so grateful my husband didn’t listen to me on this one! We’re so excited for our next tour with them!
We had an amazing day with our guide Manny! He picked us up at our resort, we stopped for coffee and headed inland for a very educational mini-van ride. We were a party of four. Three of us in our late 40’s and one in her 80’s. Manny really seems to enjoy his job touring visitors and making them feel safe and VIP! He covered every toll on the drive and all admission fees. Manny also accommodated all of our groups unique needs, food allergy and mobility issues due to age. The ruins, Cenote, and lunch were above our expectations. Make sure to have hats, sunglasses, sunscreen and good walking shoes for the ruins. If you want authentic wares and goods, this is where you can find everything you need. So many indigenous vendors. Remember to haggle on the price of goods. We were surprised on low they actually went on the items. The ruins were hot, but mesmerizing. Stop 2 took is to the Cenote. So refreshing. 75 steps down into a lush cave. We saw iguanas, bats, birds and fish. You can jump off a platform, rope swing into the water, or walk down another set of stairs. Life jackets are required. The water was clean and it was just gorgeous. We floated and gazed at the natural beauty. Stop 3 was a late lunch. The food was fresh and authentic. Not like the (not amazing) resort food we have been eating. I recommend the latte too. I actually had a second since it was “that” good. Everyone enjoyed lunch. The guacamole was Ah-mazing too! The drive back was relaxing and Manny gave us great tips for the rest of our trip! I highly recommend this tour. Side note, the 80 year old did not do the Cenote swim. Too many stairs.
Ivan was an awesome guide. It was really beautiful seeing Chichen Itza and the rope swing at the cenote was a lot of fun.
Our private tour with Tours with Mike was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Mexico. From start to finish, the experience felt seamless, thoughtful, and incredibly special. We visited Chichén Itzá, Ek Balam, a stunning cenote, and the charming city of Valladolid, and every stop felt perfectly paced rather than rushed. Our guide Daniel was phenomenal. His knowledge of the history, culture, and archaeology was impressive, but what really set him apart was his passion and ability to bring the stories to life. He answered every question with enthusiasm and made each site feel meaningful and memorable. Dennis, our driver, was equally fantastic. Professional, friendly, and attentive, he made the day smooth and comfortable from beginning to end. Choosing a private tour over a large group was absolutely the right decision. We never felt hurried, had the flexibility to enjoy each location fully, and received personalized attention throughout the day. It was relaxed, immersive, and far superior to any group tour we saw along the way. If you are visiting Mexico and want an exceptional, stress-free, and unforgettable experience, I cannot recommend Tours with Mike enough. This is the gold standard of touring, and we would book again without hesitation. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
