Experience Japanese culture through a private sushi-making and matcha experience near Sapporo. In a relaxed Japanese home, make an adorable Shima-enaga sushi roll. This small white bird lives in Hokkaido and is affectionately known as the “snow fairy.” It is also very popular in Hokkaido, and you’ll find many cute Shima-enaga souvenirs in shops and at the airport. Why not make your own as sushi? I will guide you step by step, so beginners and families are welcome. Shima-enaga is the standard design. If you prefer, you may choose Mount Fuji or a flower instead. All guests in your group must choose the same design. Please let me know in advance. After making sushi, whisk your own matcha using traditional tools and enjoy it with a seasonal Japanese dessert. Limited to one private group per day, with a maximum of 4 guests. Free pick-up and drop-off at Shin-Sapporo Subway Station is available for up to 4 guests.

The meeting point is I will meet you near Exit 5 of Shin-Sapporo Subway Station. Please wait outside Exit 5. I will be waiting by my car, holding a green sign. From there, it's about a 10-minute drive to my home studio. The vehicle can accommodate up to 4 passengers. Hotel pickup is not part of this experience.

This was my first time making this kind of sushi roll, and I was a little worried about whether I could really make the flower shape. But the instructor explained everything so clearly and patiently that I was able to make it successfully. I was so happy with how it turned out, and it tasted delicious too! It was such a fun and memorable experience.
We had a wonderful family lesson together during my daughter’s summer vacation, and she absolutely loved it! She kept saying, “That was so much fun!” We were amazed by the beautifully colored rice used in the lesson. The instructor was so warm and welcoming, which made us feel very comfortable. Everything was taught gently and clearly in English, so we could easily ask questions whenever we wanted. It was such a fun and meaningful experience, and I was happy to learn more about Japanese culture along the way. And of course, the beautifully rolled sushi we made at the end was absolutely amazing! We had such a wonderful time and would highly recommend this experience to families!

I learned how to make delicious and cute Sushi rolls while looking at the beautiful gardening. The owner, Tomoko, taught me kindly and carefully, even though I was a beginner at making sushi rolls, and it was a lot of fun♪ I learned something new to offer at the party :) And most of all, talking with everyone while cooking was enjoy than I expected!
I enjoyed making a Mount Fuji sushi roll with a beautiful design inside. I thought it might be difficult, but the instructor was kind and patient, so even as a beginner I was very happy with the result.
