On this exclusive private excursion you will get to know the different faces and landscape types of Gran Canaria in a short time. Gran Canaria is not called a miniature continent for nothing. It goes from the desert, the dunes in the south over the dry canyons through picturesque villages up to the center with fragrant pine forests. On the north side, the green and vegetated part of the island awaits us with chestnut groves, remains of the laurel forest and an interesting cultural landscape. Also the culinary should not be neglected, we enjoy typical specialties of the Canarian cuisine at lunchtime.

Next up is the beautiful town of Tejeda, in the center of Gran Canaria. Some time ago it was voted one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. In addition, Tejeda is known for its almond specialties, which we are happy to try. Every year, at the beginning of February, the Almond Blossom Festival also takes place there.

The landscape and especially the vegetation changes completely. From the rather dry center and south of the island we come down through fragrant pine forests through chestnut groves and the last remnants of the laurel forests of Gran Canaria. The destination is the pilgrimage site of Teror, known for its pedestrian streets with many wooden balconies and the imposing church. We enjoy the time in town and stroll through the old streets around the church square.

We booked a hike for a specific day. The weather was supposed to turn bad by noon. Jörg changed the route beforehand. We saw everything. Sun, mountains, flower meadows, bare trees with fog, and a few drops from the trees. We hiked partly cross-country. We would not have dared to do something like that on our own. Hiking dream in Gran Canaria – unforgettable experiences! I had the pleasure of spending a week's hiking holiday in Gran Canaria, and this trip exceeded my expectations in every respect. The island offers breathtaking scenic diversity, from lush green valleys in the north to the barren, spectacular mountain landscapes in the center. Jörg, our guide, whose performance I must call excellent and absolutely first-class, drove our small hiking group, we were 8 people, reliably and routinely to the most beautiful corners of the island, to hike them there with us on lonely paths. He knew the island like his back pocket. The routes he chose were not only scenic, but also adapted to the level of the group. His knowledge of the local flora, fauna, geology and history has made each hike an exciting and educational experience. He always provided a positive and motivating atmosphere, had an eye for the needs of each participant, was always helpful and cared deeply about our well-being and safety. They were both very great hiking experiences, super reliable pickup and return transfer included! Jörg, with his extensive expertise, very entertaining and humorous, gives a lot of interesting information about nature, history and way of life on the island. Jörg took us twice to hike in the different landscapes of Gran Canaria. We did both a mountain hike at the highest altitudes of the island and a slightly greener hike in the north around Teror. Both times we met Jörg as a very friendly, competent, informative and reliable tour guide and are not surprised that he was able to build up a regular clientele on the island. I would be happy to come back anytime. Best book now!

We went back to GC after a few years, this time in Agaete. Jörg does his tours mostly from LP or from the south, but this time we met without any problems in the mountains at the starting point. Simply fantastic to hike through the Canary pine forests with wonderful views of the Moriscos + Roque Nublo and the Pico de las Nieves, the highest mountain GC. The route was well devised by Jörg, only a few times a bit rocky paths. From the terrain not to compare with tours in Tenerife or La Gomera, much easier. He was given enough breaks for photos, this mountain world (!) has an incredible amount of nature to offer. Jörg was (as before) a very friendly and pleasant hiking guide, which you can absolutely rely on. A holiday in Gran Canaria without hiking with Jörg is possible, but pointless :-)
We have been hiking with Jörg on the island several times in recent years. This was always a highlight of the holiday. In a relaxed atmosphere, with nice people, you can experience Gran Canaria off the beaten track. Just wonderful beautiful and relaxing. You are picked up at your accommodation and then drive the mountains together. Jörg knows a lot about the country and people. We are already looking forward to the next hike with Jörg.
