Private Olive Oil Tasting in Polignano a Mare

Wow, what can we say? There are not enough words to describe our experience with Rina. She is a top notch host! And so full of knowledge not just about olive oil but on many things that she personally farms, grows and cultivates! Everything was delicious - fresh and local, and the view was so beautiful. A masseria is nice, but this is - in the words of my husband - special. A very unique experience that sets it apart.

This was our favourite meal of that week! A unique and personal experience. Stunning property. Exceptional hostess. Highly recommend!

We had the best time at Villa Delle Rose Puglia! Rina is the sweetest host and incredibly knowledgeable. She made the entire experience feel so special and thoughtful, putting so much care and effort into every moment. We learned so much about olive oil and almonds, and it was such a fun and unique experience. The property itself is absolutely beautiful and scenic as well. We would definitely recommend visiting!

The whole experience was fabulous. One of the highlights of our trip. Tina the hostess is excellent the food and wine are abundant and the property and history are explained very clearly. Don’t miss out on this experience and by the way the olive oil from olives on the property is amazing

Rina is an amazing host! Knowledgeable and fun to say the least!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND spending an afternoon at Villa Delle Rose! Oh...ask about getting a tuk-tuk from passion tours to complete this one of a kind experience!

A truly exceptional experience. Rina taught us so much about the olive oil process and all the work involved. The meal was also exceptional, we ate our fill on delicious local produce and home made dishes. I would definitely recommend this activity.

Did NOT PARTICIPATE because VIATOR FAILED to informed the event coordinator of our upcoming participation. Viator has a delayed payment that we (4) opted for via their website. When we decided to pay in full for our oil tasting event we noticed a Double Booking without warning. Naturally we cancelled the original booking (also with a different booking number) to prevent their automatic credit card billing charge 2 days before the event. We had a different confirmation number and “ticket”. We hired a private taxi (300€) to provide us with a round trip to the event from the port of Bari and back after the 3 hour event. By the time we got to the “event” (45 mins from the port), the event gate was locked to a point that our gracious driver Roberto had to call the oil tasting event coordinator. She was nice but had no other option than to informed us that Viator cancelled the event therefore they were NOT prepared for our visit and we would not obviously be charged. We explained to the proprietor that we had a CONFIRMATION NUMBER. She absolutely had NO ANSWER for us! Had we known that it was cancelled we would have made other plans and may not have had to commit to a 300€ taxi ride to a far away, rural destination. VERY DISAPPOINTING and we blame VIATOR COMPLETELY for the MISCOMMUNICATION. WE did the exact same thing for an event in Corsica via Viator but the event continued probably because we weren’t the only participants as there were maybe 18 others to experience that event. For the Oil Tasting in Polignano a Mare, we were probably the only 4 that reserved for that day/time therefore it was easy to cancel. We were extremely lucky/resourceful and salvaged the rest of the day. We have used Viator before and is probably the Tour Leader in this type of event organizing BUT THERE IS AN OBVIOUS GLITCH IN THEIR SYSTEM THAT WE PERSONALLY EXPERIENCE. We chose NOT to pursue Viator for the inconvenience of our time and money spent.

This was truly a once in a lifetime experience you will forever remember. My husband & I went to celebrate our anniversary and it has been the highlight of our trip so far! Rina was amazing, attentive, friendly and you can tell how much passion she has for this. She made it so memorable for us and we learned so much!! We will definitely be coming back in the future with our family & recommend to everyone who comes to visit the puglia region. We also ended up with some bottles to take back home!! Rina was an amazing host. Very knowledgeable in Olive Trees and the process of making olive oil. The property was very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful views. Her oils taste fantastic! We will be a life long customer. The food was fantastic! All locally sourced and/or homemade.

Honestly the best experience I have had in Italy. I have seen so many wonderful sites but an exceptional lunch with local ingredients and so much attention to detail in such a beautiful setting will be a memory I won’t forget. Rina is a wonderful hostess and we felt so welcome. I cannot say enough good things about our visit. Do not miss this.
