Our first stop is Klis Fortress, a historic stronghold perched high above Split. From here you’ll enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the Dalmatian coast while learning about the fortress’s role in defending the region for centuries.
Salona archaeological site
Second stop is Salona, the ancient capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia and one of the largest Roman cities on the Adriatic coast. Located just outside modern-day Split, it features extensive archaeological ruins including a forum, amphitheatre, city walls, basilicas, and early Christian cemeteries. At its peak, it was a thriving urban center with tens of thousands of inhabitants before being abandoned in the early Middle Ages.
