Private Jungle Waterfall Adventure, Wit Da Native Hawaiian Dundee

This is a great tour if you want to get out into the back country away from all the tourists. The guide was excellent and went out of his way to ensure you were enjoying the hike, while ensuring your safety. This tour is well worth the price and if we ever return to Kauai we would book this again.

We had a great time with Da Hawaiian Dundee. Despite the rainy weather, we were able to repel down a mountainside and hike to a waterfall. We got eaten alive by mosquitoes even though we tried two different bug sprays so we opted to wipe mud all over us which did hold the mosquitoes at bay and gave us great memories. This is a one of a kind, true Hawaiian adventure. We highly recommend for those looking for something non touristy.

If you really want a private jungle/waterfall experience book with Charlie. I would rate him a bazillion stars. He was funny and informative. He also helps rescue dogs of the island. Charlie has so much experience that he has been on a few rescue missions on the island. He gave us an experience we would never forget. I would book Charlie again.

It was AMAZING!! It was so unreal. The views were breathe taking. Charlie was fantastic. A must do!! Be ready to hike, get wet & be blown away. We felt like we were in the heart of Kauai. We did not see another soul throughout the whole adventure. It was truly the highlight of our trip. We would give it more stars if we could. Charlie was patient and real. A true Hawaiian Dundee. Such a great experience with Charlie! We had a wonderful time on our jungle hike which included waterfalls, intermediate level hiking and a fun trek through part of the river. Charlie was so knowledgeable about the Kauaiian jungle and had different hikes to choose from. Was our son’s favorite excursion while on the island!

We had the pleasure and true privilege for Charlie to guide us up to the rock face of Pu’u Konanae. We’ve hiked with Charlie before and he asked us if we wanted to go on door 1.5 (if you go with him you’ll understand the door rated system) and we wouldn’t turn down an opportunity for a new adventure. The hike took a few hours navigating interior Hawaiian lands used as hunting and dirtbiking paths. His knowledge, humor and good vibes carried us up through the canopies to views looking south and eastward. We ended with a cool dip in a river we crossed on the way in, and a quick drive back out of the land. I’ve been coming to Kauai for 17 years, and only came across Charlie’s hikes in the last few years. They are the most social hikes I’ve ever done here—the interior is the last bit of untouched Kauai, and Charlie’s knowledge of its histories is worth the experience alone. Don’t hesitate, get some good bug repellant, long pants, and go.

We absolutely loved our experience. The terrain was breathtaking and we felt like we were in a primeval world. It was us immersed in nature on a genuine adventure. My group described it as one of the best things we had ever done in our lives. Charlie did a great job training us on rappelling technique and safety (some of us had never done it before) and was super friendly and knowledgeable. It felt like you were on a hike with your favorite uncle or grandfather. Recent rains had made the trails generally pretty muddy. Prepare to get thoroughly wet and dirty. While relatively short, the hike out of the valley can be challenging with many stream crossings and a steep climb out. Pace yourself and watch your footing. Overall, this was a magical experience that was good for the soul. We would highly recommend doing this adventure if you want to be away from crowded tourist activities and desire to have a one-of-a-kind adventure deep in a beautiful and pristine landscape.

Great trip!!! We had a lot of fun, Hawaiian Dundee was a cool guy. We loved swimming at the waterfall and crossing the creeks! Will definitely remember this experience.

Charlie was very experienced and was very safety conscious. It was an incredible day and included everything adventurous that we wanted. He worked with us on the level of a activity which we could do and wanted to do. Thank you, Charlie for giving us such a fun adventure!

My wife and I booked a tour with Charlie and had an amazing time. It was our first time rapelling and we loved being able to explore this hidden gem in Kauai. It was really nice to be on our own private tour which felt like you were hiking with a local and not on a tourist attraction. Charlie was a great guide, and this was definitely a highlight of our trip.
