We had hoped that this tour would be more focused on cider tasting, as that was how it was billed. We had a very short tasting with only a single type of cider. The guide had asked me at the beginning of the tour what our interests were and I told her only the cider tasting. She only seemed interested in talking, not listening to what we wanted from the tour. We felt like we were being dragged around all day to listen to the guide talk and talk and talk about things we were uninterested in. She never took a breath. It was advertised as a cider and cheese tour. This is not that.
Ki Keeley. The tour doesn t describe a complete day for a cider tour. It covers Beuvron-en-Auge (our first stop), the option between the visit of a cider OR a cheese factory/farm and finishing the tour with Honfleur where Monet grew up and the birthplace of the Impressionist painters. I don t have no word about this rate of one star. We covered all the places mentioned in the program. I asked you if you like to drink cider, apple brandy and we decided to take the option of the cider trail. It is written in the program we can t cover in one day the cheese and cider trail. And we only could visit one farm no more. I took you for a one hour guided tour and tasting in a cider farm. Then i booked a table in the restaurant of that farm where you ordered twice a bottle of cider. I asked you a few times if you had any further questions. You said no and didn t make any other comments or expressed any special requests. We reviewed together at the beginning of the tour the different places that we will cover. I saw you checking on your mobile phone the program of my tour. If you didn't expect that program, we could change it. Before the tour, we never had a chance to communicate via text or email. You were probably too busy to contact me. If participants don’t contact me in advance, I assume they agree to the entire itinerary. But I can change it on the day of the tour without any problems. Generally, people with specific requests write to me to finalize the itinerary in advance, and we go over the various sites and activities we’ll be exploring in detail. But I had a very hard time communicating with you—you remained silent the entire day. Fortunately, your father was very engaged in the tour, and I was delighted to provide him with plenty of information. At the end of the tour, your father told me I’d done a great job. And I don’t understand why you left me a generous tip and paid for my meal. There was a misunderstanding between your expectations, the tour description, and, apparently, my personality. I am of course very sad about this very bad review (the worst I’ve received since becoming a guide) but it doesn’t reflect the consistent quality of the tours I’ve provided to my clients in the past. If you hire a guide whose services aren’t cheap, I believe you’re entitled to as much information as possible. It seems I overwhelmed you with all that information and didn’t give you a moment’s respite. I wouldn't have been offended if you had clearly told me that you wanted a tour at a more leisurely pace. I’ll improve the description of my tour, and from now on I’ll write to my future clients to agree in advance on an itinerary for this particular service. If I recall correctly, you went to Burgundy and took part in a vineyard tour. You may have been expecting that kind of tour, but this wasn’t solely a cider-themed tour.
