Description
Gain profound insight into modern Cambodian history on an essential private half-day tour to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S-21) and the Choeung Ek Genocidal Center (The Killing Fields). This confronting yet deeply educational experience provides an authentic space to reflect on the devastating impact and legacy of the Khmer Rouge regime.
Guided by an expert local host, you’ll first visit Tuol Sleng, a former secondary school converted into a high-security interrogation and detention facility during the late 1970s. Walk through preserved classrooms and photo galleries that honor the thousands who passed through its gates. Next, travel just outside Phnom Penh along the same historical route to Choeung Ek, a former orchard turned execution site. Today, it stands as a peaceful memorial surrounding a central Buddhist stupa housing exhumed relics. Conclude your tour with private air-conditioned transport and respectful storytelling tailored to your group's pace.

Must Do Tour in Phnom Penh
Our guide was Ms. Sreyneang. She spoke impeccable English and was knowledgeable about many topics in addition to her deep knowledge of the 1975-1979 genocide. Really enjoyed the tour with her. Went in the afternoon so while traffic back to the city from the Killing Fields was bad, we had fewer crowds at the sites.

Experiencing the brutality of Khmer Rough
Toul Sleng and Killing Field are emotional places created during Khmer Rough. Thank Chansip for telling us a lot about history of Cambodia. We had gone to visit Siem Reap and got much the glory of Angkorian Period but we did not expect Cambodia changed history from the glory to the dark age led by Khmer Rough. We hope this brutality and massacre will not happen to this country again.
