On this 2-hour Douro river private sailing cruise you’ll experience a different Porto on the water. The meeting point is at Douro Marina in front Deck C and then you’ll board on the Argonauta. Once sailing on the water, you’ll enjoy the most breathtaking views of Douro river estuary and Porto city, whilst getting a running commentary of famous sites (Arrábida bridge, Dom Luís I bridge, Ribeira, cellars etc). Your 2-hour cruise concludes at Douro Marina situated in the picturesque fishing community called St. Peter of Afurada, here, you can continue visiting this parish at your leisure and own expense. Bring your camera, your sunglasses, some sunscreen, and don't forget to bring a Bluetooth device loaded with your favourite music. The church started to be built in 1776 and belonged to the "Confraternity of the Souls of the Holy Body of Massarelos" founded in 1394. The Portuguese Infante D. Henrique (the driver of the Portuguese discoveries) was one of the confreres of this institution.

Famous for its port wine lodges, the ancient town of Vila Nova de Gaia lies directly opposite the great city of Porto on the steep south bank of the River Douro.

The Ribeira district spreads alongside the Douro river and used to be a centre of intense commercial and manufacturing activity since the Middle Ages. Also since that time the Ribeira Square was the site of many shops that sold fish, bread, meat and other goods.
It is an urban parish in the city of Gaia. Afurada is located near the mouth of the Douro river, where it meets the Atlantic Ocean. It is a traditional fishing village and was created as such. Its patron saint is Saint Peter, hence the name São Pedro, the equivalent in Portuguese.
The Douro estuary is located in the parish of São Pedro da Afurada, it has an area of 62 hectares, it is a resting, feeding and sheltering place for many species of migratory birds.
The Felgueiras Lighthouse is situated at the edge of the Douro's river mouth and the Atlantic coastline of Foz do Douro.

We booked this boat tour to celebrate our 5-year anniversary, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. Raul was absolutely amazing! He showed us so many hidden gems around the city and shared fascinating local stories that we would have never discovered on our own. He also recommended a restaurant for our anniversary dinner, and it was honestly a 100/100 recommendation—we couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate. The wine tasting was fantastic as well. One of the highlights was getting to try white Port, which we hadn’t found anywhere else during our trip. It made the experience feel even more unique. If you’re looking for something truly special and personal, Raul is the person to book with. It was worth every penny, and we’d do it again in a heartbeat!

Raul and his first mate Alexander were superb! Made our sunset cruise down the Duoro River spectacular. Filled with history, laughter, excellent English and yummy snacks. We had an excellent time! He even brought treats for all of the kids. Without a doubt a must do in Porto and so much nicer than the big touristy boats. Raul’s teak boat is beautiful too.
Fantastic trip. Raul took myself and 11 friends on the sunset trip. Perfect evening, Raul was the most excellent host. Entertained us with local knowledge and interesting facts. His boat was pristine and had blankets, snacks and wine for the trip. We would all recommend this trip.
We enjoyed a wonderful sunset private cruise on the Lady Moon. The boat was very comfortable and Raul and his team were so welcoming. Raul gave us lots of interesting information about Porto and we had some delicious wine and snacks. Blankets were provided and we were able to play music. Would highly recommend this trip.
My family of five enjoyed a fabulous leisurely 3 hour private Douro cruise, away from the hustle and bustle of the city streets onboard the Lady Moon. It was very straightforward to plan over WhatsApp and meet Raul at the marina. The Lady Moon is a beautiful boat. Raul was a fabulous captain and tour guide, friendly, interesting and engaging. Nothing was too much trouble and we enjoyed tasting a delicious wine and port. He was abley assisted by the equally charming Diogo as first mate. Would highly highly recommend!
Wonderful tour with thoughtful and knowledgeable host Captain Raúl. Great views of the cities, bridges and sunset. Very comfortable with blankets when it got chilly.
Captain Raúl was simply amazing and a delight to be around. My wife and two children under the age of seven enjoyed our private two hour tour along the Douro River on Lady Moon. We sampled Port wine and learned about little more about the city from Captain Raúl who grew up here.
We had the best tour guide Raul! He kept us engaged with the history of the area and the sights. The day was perfect and we were glad to book an experience that did not have 50 people all trying to get the same photo at the same time. There was only one other couple and we felt it was a private tour. I highly recommend taking this tour!
