Itinerary
Sacsayhuaman can be translated as ‘speckled falcon’ or ‘speckled head’. The last interpretation refers to the belief that the city of Cusco was set out in the form of a puma whose head was the hill of Sacsayhuaman. The origins are uncertain but the fortress is generally credited to the period of Inca Pachacutec (1450-1490), the Inca king who essentially founded the Inca Empire.
After Sacsayhuaman, your van will be waiting to continue with visits to Q’enko, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay also located near the X-zone, just outside the city, before returning to Cusco for a stop by the ‘Koricancha’ or Inca Temple of the Sun located beneath the Santo Domingo church and convent. We’ll round out the excursion with a visit to the local market, where inside the main building you find the food market with fresh fruits and vegetables, meat from rabbit to guinea pig to whole pigs, fish and seafood, groceries of all kinds and little food stands where ‘Mamá or ‘Jefe’ cooks a simple, but fresh and delicious menu for a few Soles.
And finally the cathedral of Cusco a very impressive colonial church build on the 16 hundreds by the Spanish after you will be return to your Hotel.

Excellent tour - highly recommend. Covered all the main historical sites and more. This tour is well worth doing
Juan was our tour guide and he is the absolute best. He answered every one of our questions and was deeply knowledgeable. Taking this tour early in our trip was a fantastic idea because it gave us a lot of knowledge for the remainder of the trip. I would recommend Juan to everyone!
Thank you for your review. We appreciate your kind words and hope you are enjoying the rest of your time in Peru.
We had the team pick us up from the airport and take us through the various archealogical sites. The knowledge of the sites and the information they provided was amazing. Thank you for an amazing time.
Thank you Huzefa for taking the time to write a review. It was a pleasure to have your family with us on both of the tours you took with us. We appreciate your business and hope that you enjoyed your time in Peru. Please, come back and see us again sometime.
We had a fantastic Cusco city Tour with them. Communication with them was so smooth. Their representative kept in touch with us throughout booking the tour. Our guide Manuel was great. Peru is once in a lifetime holiday experience and Andean adventures made it even better.. even more memorable.

We hired Amazing to guide us to the archaeological sites Q'engo, Tambomachay, and Saqsayhuaman and who guided us was Dany. He and his brother picked us up at the hotel and took us to see the main sites of Cusco. Dany is a very attentive and delicate guide and knows a lot about the history of each place. We recommend Amazing for these tours. Above average.

It was a great tour. I enjoyed it. Juan? had a good knowledge of local areas/history and spoke great English. We really enjoyed it.

Cusco Cathedral, Qoricancha - the Sun Temple and Archaeological Temples in an afternoon is madness! Very fast! It is worth taking 1 day only to the Cathedral and Qoricancha, the Temple of the Sun. And an afternoon to the temples.
Dear Peter, We ask that you remove this review, you have never been a client of Amazing Andean Adventures, we have never provided you any services. You may have done this by accident, meaning to review another company, or perhaps this is fraudulent and you are meaning to lower our satisfaction rating, which I would hope is not the case. Regardless, we respectfully request you remove this, because we do not know who you are. Thank you for your prompt cooperation

We were hesitant about booking this tour, due to the fact that there were only five reviews in total. I am so glad we did! Erica, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and helpful. She picked us up from the hotel and clarified our itinerary. Usually tourists start at the bottom, in Cusco, and end up in Sacsayhuaman instead Erica reversed the order of the five destinations. This way we avoided the crowds.

Our five stops were all interesting. I just wish the powers that be would allow us to take photos. Cusco and probably the Peruvian government are very protective of their interior relics and do not allow any photos to be taken inside of buildings. So instead I purchased a booklet of postcards of the artwork of the Cathedral.

If you can ask for Erica, do so!!!!!
My favorite part of the tour was at the end when we asked Erica for a restaurant recommendation. We said we wanted to have lunch where she would take her family, NOT where tourists would go. I wish I had taken a picture of the menu so I can recommend that restaurant to everyone.

We booked this tour to see the ruins around Cusco. We wanted to have a guide that understood the history, and would give us a personalized experience. Our guide did just that. He took us around in an order that seemed to avoid the hoards of tourists. He was very attentive and knowledgeable. We could have spent a little less time in the churches in Cusco, but i'm sire that is personal preference. We had been to the market the day before so we talked him into taking us to the best Peruvian doughnut shop in Cusco. I wish I could remember our guides name because he was fantastic.

Our guide, Danny, was the best ever. He told the history with the most engaging stories in perfect English.
