Start your tour in the world's largest amphitheater: host to gladiator contests, animal hunts, and reenactments of famous battles. The emperor himself would pay for the events so that they were all free to Roman citizens who could come and partake. Explore this symbol of Italian culture that has captured the imagination of visitors for 2,000 years.
Next, head over to the Roman Forum; the political, administrative and religious center of Rome in the ancient world. Here you will find among the ruins the Arch of Titus, Temple of Antoninus and Faustina, the Temple of the Vestal Virgins, and the Ancient Senate house. Walk through the ruins of elite Roman society of Ancient times.
Lastly, climb to the top of the Palatine Hill, one of the seven hills of Rome and home to Emperor Tiberius, Domitian & Nero. Its name comes from the word "palace" and it overlooks the Roman Forum on one side and Circus Maximus on the other. Also known as the place where the she-wolf found Romulus & Remus, it represents the birthplace of the Roman Empire.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Francesca. Her knowledge of the site was exceptional, and we learned so much from her. She answered every question with depth and a remarkable ability to make the past come alive. She was also so kind and helpful in every way. A member of our party was in a wheelchair, and she assisted us with finding the accessible areas, helped us navigate very difficult parts of the path, advocated for us to site staff, and even helped us book a lunch reservation for after our tour. The tours exceeded our expectations! Our guide Serena gave us an experience to remember. During both our visits to the Vatican and Coliseum it was apparent she was well versed in the details of one the most iconic spiritual hubs of the world and the massive storied roman amphitheater and it’s surrounding grounds. Her steady hand helped us navigate the day. Both her communication with security staff and guidance moving us through the many other visitors went so very smoothly. We felt privileged to have the benefit of her experience and kindness. Her explanations of the various exhibits, buildings and grounds helped us understand so much more than we would have received from a larger tour. Her depth of knowledge of Art and history and the manner in which she explained them made us feel as if we had known it all along. We would highly recommend her as a guide and hope to see her again.
