The scenery and wildlife of the Falkland Islands continues to take our breath away, visitors are blown away by what they see and experience. To get your penguin fix we head straight to see the penguins at Gypsy Cove and Yorke Bay. At these two locations you'll see 3 of the 5 penguin species the Falklands has to offer! We provide homemade lunches & snacks wrapped in unbleached compostable packaging. Our favourite place to enjoy the food and drink is at the lighthouse with the beautiful views. We will eat inside/outside the vehicle (weather dependent). Travel 20 minutes outside Stanley to see the typical Falklands landscape. Itinerary

30 min

See Magellanic penguins and stunning scenery (white sand beaches, big skies and turquoise seas)

120 min

Gentoo and king penguins on stunning white sand beaches. Experience walking along the beach or through the tall sand dunes. Possibility to watch dolphins too

45 min

Built in 1855 the 18m/59ft tall lighthouse is located on the most easterly point of the Falkland Islands. For many years the lighthouse was the most southerly manned lighthouse in the world If you're lucky you may spot dolphins, peregrine falcons and whales. Our favourite place to enjoy a spot of lunch away from others.

10 min

Built in Sunderland in 1879 the three masted barque Lady Elizabeth (Liz) is now an impressive shipwreck in Stanley harbour. In 1913 she was damaged whilst rounding Cape Horn. On her way to Stanley harbour she struck the Uranie Rock which caused further damage including a hole in her hull. Upon inspection she was condemned and declared as unseaworthy. She was used as a warehouse before breaking her moorings in a storm in 1936 and drifting to her current day location. Hundreds of thousands of stunning photos of her have been taken over the years. Her backdrop is Stanley harbour, Stanley and a number of mountains. When the tide is very low it's possible to walk out on the sand and touch her.

60 min

Travel out of Stanley to take in the wild and rugged beauty of the Falkland Islands. Big skies, the sea, mountains and our unique stone runs (aka stone rivers). See where some of the most fierce battles of the 1982 Falklands conflict took place between the British and Argentine troops. Get a sense of the terrain the British forces yomped 50 miles across to battle and to liberate the people of the Falkland Islands.

30 min

Look around the capital city Stanley. See the main landmarks: Christ Church Cathedral, Whalebone Arch, Liberation Monument, Margaret Thatcher bust, Battle of the Falklands Monument, Government House (official residence of the King's representative), whale bone collection. Learn about life in Stanley from a local resident. Receive local recommendations on attractions, shops, pubs and restaurants.

Penguins!

We had a lovely tour with Carla. We were treated like old friends. Carla took us to several spots. We saw three different kinds of penguins and found a spot by the lighthouse where we saw 2 sea lions. Carla answered a lot of questions for us. We had sandwiches in the car and delicious rhubarb bars. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour!

Operator response

Thank you so much for your lovely review. I’m really happy to hear that you had such a great day with Carla. She has a wonderful way of making guests feel at home, so “like old friends” is exactly the kind of experience we hope everyone has on our tours. It sounds like you had a fantastic wildlife day as well — three species of penguins and sea lions by the lighthouse is a pretty special combination! I’m also glad you enjoyed the sandwiches and the rhubarb cake along the way. Thank you again for choosing Lupin Tours and for taking the time to share your experience. I’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to Carla. Roxy - Owner, Lupin Tours

Must-not miss tour on Falkland Islands!

The tour covered most of the highlights in Port Stanley. Especially thrilled by the unexpected sightings of 4 seals on cape pembroke where we had a picnic lunch, when we got our first tasting of the rhubarb cake. The guides also took us to an extra stop to see the king penguins. We got to see lots of gentou penguins in the lovely Yorke bay, got a chance to hike near gypsy cove where we saw more gentou and Magellan penguins.

An Unforgettable Experience with Mike: The Best Tour of Our Lives

This is the best tour we have ever taken in our lives. Mike is an amazing human being. He is a great ambassador for his country, and his love and knowledge of his land are evident. My 4 and 7-year-old daughters enjoyed this experience immensely. The sandwiches and details were exquisite. This is a must-do tour, done with a lot of heart and love. We are very grateful to Mike for this beautiful experience that we will never forget.
