⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An amazing family trip with Shalinda – highly recommended! We spent an amazing part of our Sri Lankan holiday travelling with Darshana Tours and our driver Shalinda, and we honestly could not have asked for a better person to have with us. From the very beginning, Shalinda was extremely helpful, patient and flexible. Travelling with two children, we sometimes needed to adjust our plans, change timings or simply slow down a little, and he was always understanding and happy to help. What we appreciated most was that Shalinda was much more than just a driver. He helped us organise activities, arrange tickets, recommend places to visit and find good local restaurants, and he was always thinking one step ahead. Whenever we had a question or wanted to change something in our itinerary, he would simply find a solution. We travelled through some of the most beautiful parts of Sri Lanka, including Kandy, Dambulla, Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa and the surrounding national parks, and Shalinda helped us make the most of every place without making the trip feel stressful or rushed. We also felt completely safe in the car, which is especially important when travelling with children. He was a very careful and confident driver, even in the busiest Sri Lankan traffic. What really stood out to us was his genuine kindness and willingness to help. He helped with our luggage, waited patiently when we needed extra time and was always available when we needed something. He also shared photographs with us from our journey, which was such a lovely personal touch and gave us some wonderful memories to keep. The organisation and flexibility from Darshana Tours were excellent, but for us, Shalinda was the person who made the trip truly special. If you are planning a private tour of Sri Lanka, especially as a family, I would absolutely recommend Darshana Tours — and I would definitely ask for Shalinda as your driver. We had a very good experience with Darshana Tours during our trip in Sri Lanka. The booking process was smooth and straightforward, and our driver, Udara, was extremely professional throughout the entire trip.He was always punctual, helpful, and attentive to our requests. We traveled across Sri Lanka with Heishan for two weeks. Thanks to him, we didn’t miss any of the most beautiful places in the country. Kalana's local knowledge really enhanced our holiday. He recommended great places to stay and to eat, suggested interesting stops along the way, and was always happy to adapt the plans if we wanted to spend longer somewhere or make an unplanned stop. He stopped along the way frequently so that we could try all kinds of tropical fruits and local produce, and he made the longer drives enjoyable, helping us to learn so much about Sri Lanka, its culture and its people. The trip never felt like a standard tour. It felt personal and flexible, and tailored to our family, allowing us to experience the incredible diversity of Sri Lanka at a relaxed pace. It’s such a beautiful country with wonderful people, and we left with unforgettable family memories. We had a comfortable private family tour organised by Darshana, the agency boss who is very hands-on. Suneth was our driver guide and he was absolutely excellent: He knew what we might be interested in and did a few unplanned stops to showcase the beautiful scenery and exotic wildlife of his country, including stopping to see trees hanging with wild fruit bats and sea turtle hatcheries. Suneth is very knowledgeable about Sri Lankan wildlife, including birds, and he knew the names of all the wildlife we pointed out to! We asked to visit woodcarving craft shops and Suneth knew exactly where to take us to ensure top quality craftsmanship. The overall itinerary was well-planned, including more intense days of hiking up to Sigiriya rock then relaxing at 98 Acres spa resort in Ella. The best highlights were of course the safaris where we saw herds of 100+ wild elephants, Leopard, golden jackal, crocodiles, deer, and guess what, even the super rare sloth bear crossing the road in front of our jeep!!! When my husband and I decided to visit Sri Lanka, we spent a lot of time researching different tour companies. Darshana put together a fantastic 8 day itinerary tailored to our budget, including excellent hotels, airport pick-up, and our return transfer. We were introduced to our driver and tour guide, Hashu, a polite, courteous young man and a true gentleman, throughout the tour, he went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying every moment, his knowledge, kindness, and professionalism made every day special. What made this trip even more memorable was the friendship that developed. In the evenings, Hashu would often join us for a "few" drinks, plenty of laughter, and great conversation. One evening, another member of the Darshana Tours team, Kalana, joined us and encouraged me to sing karaoke, it was something I had never done before, but I gave it a go and to my amazement, the video went viral, reaching over 8,000 views the last time I checked! It's a memory we'll treasure forever. The memories we made during this tour will stay with us for a lifetime, and I'm delighted to say that Hashu has become a lifelong friend.
